Chill brewery and hangout spot

Came here as two different people had recommended this spot for the free flight of beer samples they provide (the flight is shaped like a boat), but unfortunately they were out of shot glasses when we went on a Sunday evening, so we couldn’t sample anything. We had a late dinner here around 9pm and they serve primarily bar bites. We ordered the empanadas, the Rana Dorada pizza, and the nachos. I liked the pizza the best - it’s thin crust and they make it fresh. The nachos came with a bit too much sour cream but did have guacamole and automatically comes with chicken. The empanadas were really thin and crunchy (not your typical empanada). It came with a chimichurri sauce in the side and our order had three pieces. Free WiFi is available. Credit cards are accepted.

Relaxed with great beer

Headed here after work with a few colleagues and we had a fab time. Beer literally on tap, relaxed atmosphere, pub grub and laughter. Slight let down was the service levels and queues to use the toilets (a beer house should have a lot of toilets!).

Nice brewery

If you want to try one of the local craft beers you can't go wrong with La Rana Dorado. Tasters were free and the beers were reasonably priced. I really liked the blond and my wife enjoyed the Port.

A bit of an over-build for area made it begger target😟

Had high hopes 4 this but after seated we were pretty much ignored. When i cldnt work quirty menu ( hey, we r in 70's) waitress seemed put out to pull it up on bartenders phone 4 us. Pizza was great, as were beers. While i was in restroom beggar stood just outside window and when husband ignored him he came in, asked 4 money, moved on to one or 2 others before being told to leave. Husband NOT amused. Wait staff spent most of time at far end of bar completely ignoring us until we called out 'la quenta'. W/ tip, over $30...not a repeat or a recommend as place gave off a false vibe.

Love craft beers??

They make the best craft beers on the city. You can ask them for a BOAT, which includes a sample of aproximatly 7 diferent craft beers for free. In the casco antiguo location the BOAT is free. Not sure aboit the rest, yet, if you like micro brew beer, great pizza, excellent ceviche, i recoment La Rana Dorada.

Popped in for a drink ….. but

but…. often we stay for food …… but waitress was miserable walked off half way taking our order. Beer was good not sure what happened to the wine the glass was wet not chilled. When we paid we were asked for tip .. we always do but not when the waitresses are rude and miserable ( seems to be a common issue in Panama)

Great food & beer

We came across La Rana Dorada when we were walking around Casco Viejo and needed a break for lunch. The pizza was delicious and their brand of beers had a nice variety. Enjoyed it so much we came back twice more!

If You Like Microbreweries, A Must Go

Our Tour Guide from Tao Tours told me about this place and I’m glad we came. I had the IPA and my wife had the Passionfruit Sour. We both loved them. This is a great brew pub. The prices were very reasonable, less than $10 for 2 pints.

Friendly place to stop and have a pint

We liked this place so much we came back again. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. We tried the beer flight, which was a large boat with more beer samples than spots. We also really enjoyed their wraps and seasonal beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating, both with lovely views of the people entering Casco. Be sure to get one of their T-shirts with one of the most interesting frogs in the world.

Great beer, food, atmosphere, and service

I have found La Rana Dorada's beer to be the cleanest and most accurate to style of of any brewery in Panama City. Although there are many locations, I think this one feels the most like a cozy pub. The food is also delicious and reasonably priced. Great service, too.

Pub food. Great beer

We wanted a light dinner and wanted to try the beer. Beer was great. We ordered a taco chicken pizza which was good. Nice crust. Could have been warmer. It arrived sort of tepid. They had other choices for food -quesadilla, burgers. People mention slow or rude service. That was not our experience. It was adequate. I would go again for good beer and pub food.

Good place for a quiet drink and food

Looking for somewhere quiet to have a drink/some food we stumbled on this place which turned out to be really good. Friendly service, good beers/cocktail and a delicious chicken taco pizza. Highly recommended.

Good place to go for beer or coctails

This is a good place to stop in and get a few drinks but too loud and uncomfortable to eat a meal. There was an excellent selection of beers and cool tshirts for sale. There are two levels and make sure you look at the view from the second floor.

Brewery with Tasty Food

Great brew pub with a very tasteful menu. I sat at the bar and watched the bartender mix cocktails - she knew what she was doing. Over the course of a four-day trip, I ate two meals - a tasty, hand formed burger and a salad topped with chicken. Both were good, and I would order them again. Regarding the beers - I stuck with the "Pils", which was excellent.

Surprisingly good beer and nice outside seating
