Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the bet restaurant I have eaten in for years. If it was in New York or London people would be raving about it. Believe me, this is the food of the gods available in Sofia. I wasn't sure if I would return to...Sofia but I would come back simply to have dinner here. The flavours are sublime, the presentation is perfect and the dinner is not only superb to eat but also an education about how and what to eat.More

Awesome dinner. Boris is a gentleman, speaking in Bulgarian, English, Spanish and Catalán for all, explaining all The dishes, with ingredients and meals historíes. Nothing to envy to the best restaurants in our city (Barcelona) which it is a great compliment. If I ever come...black to Sofía, I will come back. Excelent.More

Booked as a birthday treat for my wife and we had an amazing evening! Fine dining, excellent wines, history and a little theatre packed into four most enjoyable hours. Boris Petrov and his wonderful team offer something incomparable in Sofia, a truly memorable experience!

You enter via an unassuming doorway and go upstairs to a room that sits just 12 people. The show put on by Chef Petrov was fantastic as were the 22 courses and 7 glasses of wine. If you like interesting tasting menus this is for...you. Outstanding value for money. Cannot recommend highly enough.More

Amazing but do not eat or drink beforehand. That would be an error. This is a very good feed as well as being pretty and wowing. It will take three hours and is excellent in every way.

A really cool experience. So much has gone into this, and Chef does not spare any detail in explanation. Somewhat an anthology of food.

Chef Petrov is a wonderful host! He tells great stories about the dishes in front of your eyes. 22 courses, absolutely delicious and unique - wow. Reserve enough time, the evening can easily last three and a half hours. Top recommendation for ambitious food lovers.

Well, what an experience Secret Chefs Table was. I have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants, and some that are just as good but unrecognised, but I must say this surpasses any as an overall experience for food lovers. 22 innovative dishes bring together the...riot of hedonism that is the Secret Table. We took the 7 wine pairings, and the thought and delivery of the dishes and wine was excellent. This is an evening adventure that covers culinary history and practices along with some of the more innovative mollecular gastronomy practices presented by Chef Petrov, Chef Savov and the team, while Chef Petrov discusses the genesis of the menu along with lots of information on just about any food related subject you care to mention. Several times I found myself chuckling to myself as the dishes overwhelmed my senses or just plain shocked me. Your eyes will be amazed by this experience, your other senses will follow suit. For your own sake, if you love food, do this. Go with an empty stomach and an Open mind and you will have an evening to remember.More

This is the most extraordinary restaurant I’ve eaten at in a long time, and possibly ever. The building it is in is unprepossessing, but when you come upstairs Chef Petrov and his team welcome you into another world. This chef’s table has space for a...maximum of 12 guests, all of whom have the same set menu of 20+ courses. Chef Petrov is a born storyteller, so this is an educational experience as much as a culinary one, and he is fluent in English and Spanish as well as Bulgarian, so there’s no issue with understanding what he has to say. Every dish was creatively conceptualised, perfectly executed, and plated like an artwork. The service was swift but never rushed. It was also exceptionally good value for money; the tasting menu with seven wine pairings came to under £100 a head. The restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star (yet…) but probably because it is quirky and doesn’t conform to French fine dining expectations. It deserves a spot on the more unconventional World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, however.More

What a wonderful culinary experience. As my husband and my self have eaten at many many Michelin starred and highly ranked restaurants all over the world we considered this a very nice treat. Every starred resteraunt has its own touch that makes it stand out....We stared the evening being greeted with a very refreshing herbal drink. The meal started on time and lasted for a very quick 3 hours. Each course was explained by Chef Petrov. We found the history and knowing the process of what we were eating to be not only interesting but wanting to know more. His many years of experience and his love for using nature to fill our senses was intriguing. We opted for the 7 glasses of wine pairing. I highly recommend this experience as it was the highlight of our trip. We were in Bulgaria on business with some days of vacation to enjoy the country. We were also accompanied by 4 other colleagues that were thrilled with our evening at Secret by Chef Petrov.More

I don’t think I will be able to describe our horrible experience in this restaurant with words. We are very easy going people and living a bad review is not what we will usually do, no matter how disappointed we are from the food and...the service as we understand that in most cases owners can’t be hold responsible for the actions of the staff and mistakes happen. But in this case the one who deserves the full credit was exactly the owner! We received as a present for my wife’s birthday what supposed to be a special experience. Indeed, it was very special and unforgettable one! We have never felt so embarrassed in our life! We made the big mistake to dislike most of the dishes from the multiple course menu and although we were super polite and respectful didn’t make any comment about it until my wife couldn’t handle handle it anymore and made a very light comment on the another split sauces, she were humiliated and called bed names in front of the other guests who couldn’t believe their eyes! So do we! Whatever we say about this won’t be enough, this should never happen to anyone! There is just no way you can make good food with mind set up like this person, there’s just no way! We felt bad for everyone around him as the poor girl who was helping with the service and the other chef just stood there speechless and lower than the grass. It’s okey to have ego and to think of yourself as an artist or so but at least have a little bit of coverage. The food he’s trying to do and techniques he use were interesting 10-15 years ago. Not anymore. The place itself is so tasteless and kitschy that looks much more like room for Thai massage than a restaurant. Absolutely ridiculous atmosphere. It’s beyond our understanding how can anyone enjoy a dinner made and led by this unpleasant person. Just wow!More

Do not go! If you're there and waiting to be seated, starting to have doubts and reading this, listen to your inner gut and leave! The place is cheap sort of a low quality massage parlour atmosphere. Fine dining? You gotta be kidding. I genuinely...do not understand the good reviews, these ppl have not eaten tasty food in their life. Far from quality, not one of the 22 dishes was amazing, mediocre at most and top of that you can listen to the chef's bs all night. The cheap wine menu helped us to survive this experience. Very disappointed. Give it a miss, have a kebab instead you will be better off.More

We really wonder how Trip Advisor allows such blatantly fake reviews like this. It is clear that the person signed up for the sole purpose of writing this negative review only to lower the restaurant's rating. Degrading Malice!?

Hello, Yes this restaurant offers a child's dishes as well. I am going there quite often with my kids as well and they prepare for them some dishes like burgers, fish fingers, meatballs, pizzas etc.
