Best meal in fiji!

Food was by far the best we have had during our whole holiday. The butter chicken did not disapoint and the seafood pasta was surprisingly tasty. Even the kids fish and chips was delicious and our 3 year old ate it all up which is amazing. They offer a free shuttle from the resorts to the restaurant which is awesome. The only negative was the driver was 30min late picking us up but the food was worth the wait!

Good change from resort food but bring cash

This is a good place to visit if you are tired of having resort food. They will offer a free transfer from the Shangri La hotel. The menu is quite extensive and caters for all with seafood, steaks and curries available. I would recommend the seafood as this is their speciality. My only gripe is they did not accept card only cash. This was not communicated beforehand. If you are catering for tourists in this day it should be just the accepted practice.

A great dining experience!

An absolute hidden gem! Was recommended to us by another guest at the Shangri La who raved about the food and service. We were not disappointed. The pick up was easy, and on time and the service at Flying Fin was outstanding, Loz made a real effort to make sure the whole family was having a great time. Cocktails were great, kids milkshakes looked even more impressive. The food, though, was the real hilight. If you like a butter chicken, this is one of the best but the seafood and kids' meals were also delicious. Would definitely recommend it to others, especially if staying at The Shangri La. Cancelled our hotel restaurant booking tonight and going back.

Delightful and extensive menu

Resort guests had recommended seafood here. Arrived half an hour after 5pm opening so was empty when left 630pm had 3 or 4 tables for a weekday night. Enjoyed a cocktail to start and had the Mali Mali fish which had a solid texture and taste to it. It was served very well with potato mash and some leafy dark greens. With the cocktail sweet i had a bitter beer with the meal for some balance.

So, so, so, so GOOD

I think this is an absolute must restaurant to visit if you are staying in the main land in Fiji. I am not typically a seafood lover but I cannot fault this place on any of their dishes we tried. The quality and presentation of the food is incredible and the price is so affordable. This was my favourite restaurant out of all the restaurants we visited during our stay in Fiji, I highly recommend visiting.

Warning be careful booking

Be careful booking with this restaurant! I made a booking for 5 adults & 3 children in October 2023 confirmed by restaurant. Received email 23rd Dec cancelling my booking as they are not open.you would think having 3 months to know this would have been enough time ! Extremely annoyed will never recommend this place.

Amazing lobster and fish!

We’ll worth visiting. Delicious fresh sea food and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. We had the Mahi mahi and the lobster. The fish was so sweet and firm and the sauce was delicious. Beautifully presented too. The lobster of the day came with chilli butter, Looked gorgeous and tatares amazing. Cocktails were good. We’ll definitely be back next visit!

You won’t be disappointed !

Having seen all the amazing reviews I couldn’t wait to take my family for dinner. We where NOT disappointed. The food is out of this world - every single fish dish was was prepared correctly. The staff and service were outstanding. And there’s even a complementary shuttle service to and from the restaurant from Shangri-La resort Will defiantly be back!!

Flying fin nails it.

We were staying locally and had heard that this place was pretty good. I was impressed.the place presents as clean and tidy, the service was good and the food was spot on. I had the butter chicken (which was awesome) wife had the seafood pasta which she thoroughly enjoyed and daughter had a tomatoey pasta dish. All food presented professionally and in reasonable portions. All for under $100fj. Thank you flying fin, will drop in again if back this way.

It’s a must!

Cute little restaurant in town with friendly staff and a shuttle service that will pick you up/ drop off at the local Hotels or Airbnb. The seafood is fresh and the meals are flavorful! We will return to try another dish.

Australian here. no cap, the best food we had here. Grilled chicken is literally the best, the butter chicken is CRAZY good, don’t give this a miss. Make it happen, seriously the best food

Fabulous Food at Flying Fin

This restaurant was recommended and we weren't disappointed. Between us we tried the Calamari, scallops and pakapapa fish and we were all impressed. Topped off with a Fiji Gold beer added to the enjoyment on a nice hot day. The service was great and the staff member who served us was lovely.

We were really impressed with The Flying Fin, we went there after Ecotrax (which is also excellent) we had a lovely meal for 15 of us. Nice and cold Fiji Gold and Mahi Mahi fish, delicious. The kids nuggets and fish were really good quality too. The staff were very friendly and even gave our baby a cuddle. Recommend

Maybe we picked wrong...

Going by the reviews, either we are extremely picky or we picked the wrong dishes. We love visiting local eateries & were really excited for our last dinner in Fiji to be here, but it didn't live up to the expectations. I ordered the surf & turf & my husband the garlic prawns. I asked for medium & it was closer to rare. I'm not one to send a steak back to be cooked more, so that's my mistake I guess - though good cook knows the difference between medium & rare. The prawns also had the shells on (more of an inconvenience than anything) & weren't big & juicy like others have said. Both dishes lacked flavour also, so we were disappointed there. Service wise was fine. The restaurant was pretty quiet, larger group with kids outside, another family inside & 2 guys inside. We felt like we were being watched as we finished our meal so that was awkward. Heads up, it's cash only. There is an ATM nearby I believe. Just wasn't a great experience for us, like I said, maybe just the wrong dishes. Other people seem to have enjoyed their time here, so disappointed that it wasn't the same for us.

Little gem in fiji

The best seafood restaurant in Fiji near Shangri-La hotel. Located in a little village. Parking in front of the restaurant. After first try we went again the next day for lunch Their clam chowder soup is a must try (only a little salty) many seafood inside. Taste wonderful Also their garlic bread on side Lobster with butter garlic. Frozen lobster but taste really yummy Avoid the pasta not up to par Scallop with meshed potato taste was good but scallop not many. Overall their taste is very good one should try. Price midium range but worth it
