Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best raw fish on the island. And I've eaten lots of it 🤣 we came here for lunch for my 50th & had the Ika Mata & Sashimi combo. It was absolutely devine. It was so good infact, we changed dinner plans so I...could sit on our deck, watch the sunset & enjoy my fav food with a glass of bubbles. Unfortunately they had sold out of Ika Mata by then, so we got a plate of raw tuna instead. It was just perfect. Thanks for making this birthday gal so happy 😊More

We had the fish sandwich, fish n chips, and bacon pancakes. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and reasonably priced as well. Enjoyed the Nu coconut drinks as well. At the end of the weekend, market area. Out door, covered seating.

Some of the best Ika Mata on the island, and their mixed sashima platter was delicious and so very fresh. Bite Time was recommended to us by Tem from Akura Fishing Charters, and he certainly knows where the freshest fish is! Get in early though...as most items are sold out by about 1:30pm.More

Love the freshness of all the food this place serves. Carpaccio is one of my all time favorites. Sushi is pretty top notch too. Can always rely on this place.

A real 'must do' if you travel to Rarotonga. Went here on a recommendation and was blown away with the quality of the seafood. Sashimi caught earlier the same day and an amazing fish curry with chilled, fresh Nu (drinking coconuts). Easy to find location...in the market area in Avarua with easy parking nearby. To cap it all, their food is amazing value for money too.More

The sashimi is caught at 5am the morning you eat it. Melt-in-the-mouth fresh and flavoursome, generous portions, $20 NZ, caught by the guy who is one of the drummers at Edgewater cultural night. We biked every day around the island from Titikaveka for the sashimi...combo. GoMore

A great place to get a fresh fish feast. Stop in for breakfast on Saturday morning while you are at the markets or for a fish lunch throughout the week. Well priced and tasty with customary friendly Cook Island service.

On our third vacation to Rarotonga, we visited our favorite places to eat, and Bite Time Café in Avarua was one of them. The Fisherman’s Platter is my go-to dish – extremely fresh, vibrant with flavor and makes you feel a “good full” not bloated....This time around, we came earlier in the day and my wife had their breakfast, which happened to be a hit as well. Highly recommended food stand for fresh food at a fair price without the fancy frills on the island! Please indicate if you found this review to be helpful as it will help me better focus my efforts in the future once travel resumes once again. Stay safe and take care!More

Beautiful local seafood and lovely friendly staff. This was recommended to us by our local friends - you can’t go past the Ika Mata or sashimi - just beautiful! Suitable for solo, couples or families to eat here.

Stopped in twice last week for lunch whilst over on holiday. I had my usual battered fish (mahimahi) of the day with salad, and was not disappointed. Great fresh fish, cooked well, great little salad at a great price.
