Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They serve good coffee and fresh fruit juices. They also have ice cream, although we didn't try it. Patio outside and good service.

This café is very centrally located and has a bit of everything. I didn't realise it sold as much ice cream as it does! I had the coconut and pineapple juice, it was delicious and refreshing! The big size is maybe also 750ml.

Sandwiches, salads, tapas, ice cream, coffee, beer, wine. We split a very large beef, pepper, onion sandwich. Delicious! We may have been starving after a long day of touring. Very friendly, quick service.

I went to El Taller for brunch ... The place looked amazing and the food smelt good when I stepped into the restaurant so I decided to stay ... bad idea ... The cappuccino was amazing, the waiter struggled with my English but was willing to help to the best of her ability ! Unfortunately the pizza sandwich I ordered was TERRIBLE .... had no taste, was half cold with a lot of unmelted cheese and was a mess of slop ... reminded me of my boarding school days food ! I took 2 bites and asked for the bill.

Been here very often, lovely cafe with more than just lovely (and unusual!) ice cream. Also take-away option for the ice cream which can be handy. Recommended!!

The ice cream here is really good and they have so many flavours to choose from. Otherwise, it's a pretty average and noisy place. It's not at the top of my list. Would probably get ice cream and walk down the street but thats about it.

Being gluten and dairy free, finding a quality dessert can be difficult in Santiago, especially in a place that worships pan. I had the mango sorbet and it was so yummy! A little pricy for the serving size, but a high quality cup of deliciousness. They will certainly be seeing me again. Also, don't shy away from asking for samples, they were more than willing!

I popped in this café by chance, while looking something sweet and i was surprised by quick and smiling service and the taste of the products. I had an affogato (coffee and hazelnut ice cream - which for my tooth was a bit too sweet) but was really nice! Around me people with amazing-looking salads and juices... I'm definitely going back for lunch!

The decoration in the cafe is great. Staff are serving quick with smiles. This stands out easily when compared to other cafes or restaurants in Santiago. The chicken croissant is super delicious. Ice-cream waffle is just just just amazing. Coffee is good in compared to other cafes in Santiago. Lovely experience in relaxing environment. Will definitely visit again!

Popped in on a warm day for a refreshing ice cream. The service was friendly and the ice cream only average. Would go again for a coffee

We went because if an article in a magazine, and we were not disappointed. My boyfriend and I asked for a waffle tower. They let us taste the ice cream so that we could decide on the flavours we wanted to choose. Albeit the waffles weren't my favourite, the ice cream was just heavenly. The three milks ice cream is a must-taste.

Just arrived in Santiago today and had the best ice cream ever at El Taller. Loved the cafe and the staff were super friendly! Totally recommend checking it out.

El Taller is a café in Providencia Avenue. They offer breakfast, lunch, desserts, coffee, ice-creams, etc. They offer a daily menu at a convenient price. If you do not want to go for lunch menu, you can also order a sandwich or a salad. In particular, I liked very much the fresh orange juice. Prices are average and personnel is nice and professional. It is also very clean.

Even if the place looks more "european" than usual at Santiago, is just a bluff. The salad is plenty of lettuce, without original dressing, really slow service and too expensive for what they are offering.

I arrived in Santiago on Sunday late morning and crashed after the overnight flight. I woke up and walked on Providencia to find a place to have breakfast/lunch/dinner after 6:00 PM and stopped at El Taller. I had a great machaca sandwich. Unfortunately they stop serving salads at 3:00 PM, but the sandwich did the job. The staff is very friendly and kind. I plan to return for breakfast one of these days.
