Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love Castaňo, they are all over Santiago. Their coffee from the coffee machine is great and the Chai latte tea too. I usually drink the French vanilla cappuccino, it is delicious. Their integral bread is fantastic as well as their Pan de Pascua con frutos rojos ( Christmas bread with red berries).
They also have excellent Belgian waffles to take out.

You find many CASTAÑOS around Santiago. They all offer the same quality products. You can stop for coffee or to have a quick bite (sandwiches, wraps, salads). They have great pâtisserie and artisanal bread. Try the 13 grains bread. It is great for breakfast or to have a nice sandwich. You choose your food and pay at the cashier.

Yes, there is one of these on almost every corner. My wife insisted on several traditional Chile bread items and we found Costano. Low prices and high quality. Note that they are closed on Sunday----at least the one we went to. The locals like this place, which is a good sign!

You can find one in every corner of Santiago. Good and affordable food, great salad options. Media luna and blueberry muffins are the highlights.

It's not a restaurant, but one can have an empanada and not an instant coffee. The staff speaks Spanish, but they do efforts to satisfy English speaking customers. No complaints.

There are many Castaños around Santiago. They open early and have coffee and pastries for a quich breakfast. Prices could be lower for fairness.

Heard this was a must go to for empanadas and bakery food alike! A local actually insisted my father to go to Castanos especially for their empanadas! And my review tells all, best i've had on my trip so far here in Chile.

I come here all the time as it's one of my favourite bakeries in Santiago. There are numerous locations and I especially enjoy their pan de miel and crocata bread. They also carry numerous desserts in small single-serving sizes and a selection of empanadas. Highly recommended.

Place to buy food and eat, few table options. We think the "sweet" options are better than the "salty" ones. When you're hungry, it's a good option.
