My good friend brought me here after visiting a shop in Chinatown that sells affordable basic beauty items. He said he always eat here whenever he got a chance. The place shows pictures of celebs who have tried their food. The chicken rice itself is ok, maybe satisfactory if I may share my opinion. The lime juice at 1.30sgd is refreshing especially if you're tired from walking around there. I just wonder how come there was bones with our chicken, haha. No complaint at all from me especially this is the times when everyone especially restaurants are experiencing the effects of COVID19. If I will come back, yes, because it may not be offering the most yummy chicken rice in SG, it is still worthy of a try👍🏻

This Hainanese Chicken Rice stall is Michelin recommended for a reaso - the chicken rice is very very good. The chicken is moist and perfectly cooked, the rice is perfectly cooked, the chilli sauce has just the right level of spice and is perfectly balanced, the broth is clear and rich and beautiful. We paired our lunch fish with some bean sprouts - just whisked around a wok for a couple of seconds and served with a sweeter chilli. Exceptional. Likely you will have to queue but it dims worth the wait.

Been a customer since i was young , around 4-5 year old at that time. Now I'm 17 and still this is my fav , everytime I went to Singapore i visit it. ( from Batam ) nice tender chicken with fragrant rice , also the free flow soup is good! also try the Lemon Chicken Rice. Usually went with my family and they also like it.

Hello yrtnani. Gabriel San, Sorry to hear that in are in such a stage of frustration. I certainly want you to enjoy what your had paid for. Half a chicken after deboning will always look smaller.. and sauces are separately packed for take away else your food will be soggy. I hope you may one day pay a visit to our shop and I will want to give you a free treat no bluff. Hope to see you soon. God bless you..

The restaurant look quite bland when you walk in but the food is worth a visit. The rice is grainy which is the way I like it and the chilli is just right. The chicken is pretty delicious too.

We were walking past and this place was packed with locals. It says a lot about local food outlets. Food was really nice, good serving size, fast, cheap. We'll worth it.

Continuing our Singapore saga of iconic food binging, we stopped by this small no frills restaurant in Chinatown. Their menu has a few more selections compared to most chicken rice joints, but we sticked with what made them famous. Large size boneless hainan chicken rice was very good indeed. The “large” size was equivalent to a reg size in the states, I hate to see what a “small” size plate is. Most of the chickens were deboned but prob 10-20% had some small bones still so westerners beware. The chicken was relatively tender, minimal fats, skin were thin & silky, indicating relatively fresh spring chicken. Most cuts they served were good meats, other placed might try to sneak in too many undesirable parts into your plate, not here. Two self-serving dipping sauce available: the ginger sauce & the spicy sauce. There was also a bottle of sweet thick dark soy sauce that was good. Personally I still prefer the Cantonese style of dipping sauce for chicken: its generally more fresh, has more ginger & scallion, slightly more salty & sesame oil. The rice here was excellent: juicy, aromatic & had great flavor derived from the chicken itself, a great compliment to the chicken. Overall this place serves very good local style Hainan chicken rice, it might be a semi-tourist trap but it was able to maintain high standards at locals’ price. Would def be back next trip.

Lately I've developed a serious liking for 'Chicken Rice.' While in Melaka in July 2019, I tried this dish from two places. All three are little different in taste but taste good. Within a month I went to Singapore and tried once in a evening at a restaurant opposite to Mustafa center. It was just terrible. But Hainanese Chicken Rice was in my list of 14 or so South East Asian foods to be tried during 6-day Singapore trip. So, one evening we went to China Town and after some walk, watching colorful shops, paying a visit to the Mariamman Temple I set direction in Google Map to one and only Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice Shop. Finding the small but old and authenticated chicken rice shop was not that difficult. A smiling old lady greeted us and we told her that we are all the way from Bangladesh to have your special dish. Immediately three of the staff surrounded us to help. We choose roasted chicken with fragrant rice, steamed chicken with fragrant rice, a green vegetable. and pure honey lemon with ice. The food was too delicious and met my full expectation. Perhaps this was the best rice chicken that I've taken recently. I wish I go back to that place again. Service was exceptionally good by polite staff and they were also asking feedback.

This is one of the better chicken rice shop in Singapore. Very tasty traditional hainanese chicken rice. The meat was extremely soft and tender, not forgetting the flavorful chicken rice! Must try.

Have eaten here a few times over the past 10 years & the chicken was great every time. It is a simple place & the local people eat there too, which is a great sign. We only had a chance to eat there (regular & lemon cutlet) once this trip but wanted to get back again. Recommend stopping here either before or after walking the rest of Smith Street.
