If the main course spring chicken had not been over- cooked then the overall rating would have been Excellent The cold and the hot appetisers were excellent as were the desserts. Ambience was pleasant and service was good.More

The decor in Tri is magical.... the nest of "chairs floating on the water is lovely but very difficult to get into. You basically hve to remove your high heeled shoes and bum slide your way into the nest. The table is very low so...you hve to sit with your legs stretched straight out on the floor of the nest......not very lady like and if you are wearing a form fitting short dress, you will NOT be able to sit in the nest without exposing yourself. The service was very good but the food quality and taste was well below average. Lunch was expensive , HK 400 per person without drinks or coffee / tea. Such a shame.....the place was completely empty . If the food does not dramatically improve then this place is doomed. Tri needs a first class chef to bring this place round.More

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to in Hong Kong. The interior is stunning and unique, the view is beautiful, the atmosphere tranquil and food great. The food is Balinese which is lovely and different with great flavours. Service was good...and we had a little pod which was so romantic. Definitely recommend for couples ❤️More

We went the restaurant as a group of 4 with dinner reservation at one of their "nest", which has a minimum charge of HK$800 per head. As we were ordering a tasting menu each, we asked if there was a possible alternative to the crayfish/uni...appetiser as one of us was allergic to shellfish. We were absolutely shocked when the waitress responded (quote) "Our chef will NOT ENTERTAIN YOU" We were utterly disappointed by the waitress's attitude and her disrespect for customers. This is not what you would expect at a fine dining restaurant or any restaurant for that matter, especially due to dietary requests. We left saying that we will just have to dine somewhere else then, and as we walked out, she said "It's your choice". Honestly, this explains why half the restaurant was empty at the time. Worst service ever, stay away!More

My husband and I love TRi. The dishes on the tasting menus are full of wonderful and complex flavours and are beautifully presented (and TRi gets top marks for its inventive vegetarian tasting menu). Service is straightforward and very polite. Being on the south side...of the island, it's very quiet but that's how we like it, and it's less expensive than restaurants in Central. This is probably our favourite restaurant in Hong Kong.More

We hadn’t been to Tri for a while and were in two minds about going, having read a couple of the reviews. We went with friends of ours who were visiting from overseas, having lived here and been to this restaurant with us before. I’m...pleased to say that we were all very glad we went! The food (as always) was excellent, the decor is very unusual and creates a sense of tranquility, and all the staff were friendly, smiling, and efficient. If you like good quality Balinese food, give Tri a go!More

Last night was our final visit to TRi - we won't be back. We live close by, and were eager to try TRi when it opened. It wasn't quite right, but we've continued to return, hoping that they would improve with time as they settle...in. Unfortunately, we are done giving them the benefit of the doubt. Upsides are that the chef does make high quality food. They will have no trouble finding a job when this place goes under. Downsides are that the restaurant charges very high prices but doesn't have the level of service to back it up. The staff appears to be untrained in fine dining service, but somehow still acts pretentious. The sommelier literally called one of the male staff members 'the boy' in conversation with us, though he was clearly referring to a grown adult. As several have mentioned here, there are a number of inflexible policies that leave customers feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied. One is that the 'pod' tables have a minimum service charge. So, even if there is literally nobody else sitting in the restaurant (as has been the case with us more than once), you will not be permitted to sit there without spending at least $800/head. If you are unable to reach that minimum, you will be dinged (without notification) a 'miscellaneous' charge on your bill to top you up to the amount required by the restaurant. For us last night (celebrating my birthday), this amounted to a charge of $400 on our bill, so we were charged $400 extra to sit at a table in an almost-empty restaurant. I can understand this policy if there was a wait for tables, but every time we go, nobody else seems to be there. I guess the rest of the neighborhood figured out before we did: TRi isn't worth it. We won't be back.More

Recommended by a local friend. Love the welcoming interior and it doesn't feels like your in Hong Kong but some island. I find the food pretty authentic with a modernise touch.

Nice decor and ok food but totally empty on a Saturday night. It’s not cheap and the the staff are overly fussy (mainly because they had nothing else to do) The fact that your the only people there means the atmosphere is lacking

We did the champagne brunch on New Years Day. The restaurant was very quiet which I thought was a genuine travesty - I have been to HK a few times and this was probably my favourite dining experience for the delicious food, beautiful aesthetic and...decent attention by our friendly servers to our champagne glasses during the two hours of free flow. Reasonable price for a really lovely experience, looking out from a gorgeous interior through the palm trees to a shining sea.Totally relaxing, we stayed there for over three hours.More
