Having to wait 20 minutes for a cup of coffe, in a cafe, with about 10 staff, serving less that 10 people in the cafe at the time,....watching a waitress scraping ice from the inside of a chest freezer, doesnt create the image of excellent...customer service. To top it off, having to wait a further 40 minutes for a burger, was disappointing. One word comes to mind......lazy!More

The place is comfortable, clean, air-conditioned, staff are presentable and were busy most times I visited. I can't judge the food overall as I have only ordered a fish & chips once (was great). The last 2x I had ordered a chicken panini they were...inconsistent (the chicken was cooked in different sauces, one time the onions were cooked and there other time it was raw). Milkshakes and coffee were goodMore

A decent cafe, varied menu, lots of staff and customers seem to come back regularly. With limited options available in Nuku’alofa, it is easy to see why this cafe could become a regular place to hangout.

We visited Cafe Escape three times. This is a modern restaurant, well set up and clean. The waiting staff are well presented and go about their work professionally.. While we enjoyed an excellent meal delivered in a timely manner, on two other occasions we had...extremly long waits despite it not being a busy time. Management need to look at systems to see how service delivery could be improved. Best wishes for the future. .More

A busy cafe on the main drag. We had two coffees and cheesecake. The coffees were very weak and top price. The cheesecake average. Don't know why it is so popular. Instead we spent the rest of our week at Friends, much better coffee cheaper...cake and slices and a tiramisu to die for.More

Quick service, yummy smoothies and inviting seating areas make this cafe a nice place to meet friends. I’ve heard the food is good but I personally haven’t eaten there, as my visit was late in the evening and I wasn’t hungry, but again, the strawberry...banana smoothie was yummy! 😋🍓🍌🥛More

Reviews are amazing so thought I'd Try this place. No warm welcome, menu is written on a black board behind the cashier. It is a very big menu so it felt a bit chaotic. Asked for a high chair and the cashier pointed to a...corner using her eyebrows. First strike. Walked over to the corner and found a highchair with food from the last kid who used it. Second strike. Found a table and waited for our food. My eggs benedict came out along with my son's eggs on toast. The eggs on toast were 2 eggs however you wanted it on some toast. I got scrambled for my son and asked for it to be overcooked. It came out still a bit runny but my son liked it. Big plus was that it was definately more than 2 eggs, it was a big serving of eggs actually. Things started to look up. Waited and waited and my daughters pancakes hadnt come out. Went over to the cashier to ask how long and she asked the chef. I heard her say "oh" as in Oh he hasnt made it yet. She turns to me however and says its almost done. Another 10minutes later the pancakes came out. Third Strike. Pancakes were nicely presented very happy with the pancakes. On leaving I saw some cakes in a display case so asked for 2 slices of chocolate, 2 slices of lemon and 2 slices of cheesecake. I was very surprised when the cashier said that will be 60 odd dollars! I paid regardless because my meal was very nice, the cakes must be as good. After waiting for 20 minutes I approached the cashier and asked whats taking so long, the cakes are literally sitting there, you just need to grab my slices and done. She apologised and said the display case was not working and the cakes are warm making it hard to slice. I continued to wait. Finally I received my containers of cake. She had presented me with 3 large containers so i stopped to repack the cakes into one container. On opening the containers I was standing stunned at what was inside. A pile of chocolate cake and A melted mess of what use to be cheese cake. Final Strike. I walked back to the cashier and told her I was very unhappy after spending almost $70 I was not leaving with that mess. She apologised and went to get my money back, she went to hand me the money when i told her i will still pay and take the lemon cake as it was ok she said its ok you can just take the full refund. Another girl at the counter yelled at her to give the money back to deduct the cost of the lemon cake. If you know something is not upto pah Don't serve it!More

I’ve been here a couple times now with local colleagues and haven’t been disappointed yet! Great good and good service. Right off of the main road from the cruise wharf.
