Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a solo disabled traveller trying to see every country if the world before I go blind I decided to celebrate country 180 with a 5 star hotel, only to turn up and find they did not have my room available. They put me in...a crappy hotel nearby and said they’d pay half. Told them where to go. Disgusting hotel. Ruined my celebration and then put me in a poor quality hotel with bed bugs. Thanks!More

Nice welcome, with a cold and fresh coconut. The rooms are nice, but the bed is not that comfortable and little bit small. Also, the Asian restaurant is excellent, unfortunately the view is not as nice as it could be. The swimming pool is not...deep, so be careful if you want to swim. The breakfast is little bit disappointing.More

There are not many places to choose from in terms of nice hotels in Honiara but this is one of the better. Rooms and AC were good as was the pool. The place is well maintained. Only issue we had was some rather lackadaisical food...service. The wait staff are just not focused on customer experience. Takes a long time to order or get food which was a bit overpriced. Other than that the place was fine. Note, there is no beach really which is the case anywhere in Honiara. It's not a snady beach type of place for the most part.More

Went here for dinner. Good staff, good venue, good music, good food. A welcome relief from poor food. I had the spring rolls and thai beef salad. Both good. Colleagues had the steak and that was said (and looked) to be good. Worth the price.More

I had room service 2 nights of the crayfish with a mornay sauce. It was the best lobster I've ever eaten - HUGE, tasty for about $50. They made me a nice salad, with homemade blue cheese dressing instead of hot vegetables. Fabulous - compliments...to the Chef!!More

Coral sea is one of the best dining place in Honiara with a great sea front view. Food variety is diverse - you can enjoy a variety of food in different outlets at the resort.

Wonderful friday evening with live music. Very warming tidy and clean. Very friendly staff they get us seated served drinks in no time. The service was excellent. Thumps up for this waiters. The food was awesome except that the lobster (koura) I ordered wasn't really...up to my expectations. There was hardly any meat on it cos it was small in size. Honestly I didn't enjoy the food that night at all. I still score it high anyway.More

Stayed at the Coral Sea during my first visit to Honiara. Clean and luxurious rooms. Lovely waterfront accommodations. Great waterfront bar with Malaysian food. Fairly centrally located near the Police station and government offices. Short walk to the museum and craft market.

While not particularly cheap, the food is nice. I had a veggie burger which was very tasty and nicely served with chips or veggies. Its a lovely setting to look at the sea and the overall hotel grounds are very nice.

I stayed at the Coral Sea Resort for 4 nights and this was a really nice hotel! I was even better than expected! The room was very clean with great AC. Everything looked very fresh! The restaurant had a very good variety and everything I...had was very delicious! There are two bar areas, one in the restaurant and one on the water. I wondered if the Casino would be an issue but it was not! The rooms were all smoke free. The rooms are actually in separate buildings from the casino. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is good. Walking around during the day was fine. It is very easy to take a cheep taxi at $10 SOL per 1 Km. I will definitely stay here again! This is a very well run hotel!More

If the dirt and grime and unswimmable town beaches get you down, the Coral sea is a place to get away from it all and dream you really are in paradise. The pool really is sparkling and clean, the grounds are kept looking immaculate. There...are different spaces to sit, to eat, to drink or just to relax away from the world outside the gates. There is a bar/restaurant next to the water that serves fabulous Malaysian(?) food that truly smells great - I can sit at the bar and enjoy a beer (don't forget happy hour) and just feed on the smell of the cooking. A big green space leading to the pool, poolside seating, then the open area where live music and dancing often features. The restaurant is there although I've never eaten there. Also a casino but I've never gone inside. I used to order a kids meal to share with my daughter which was around $100sbd which actually did us quite fine when we used to stay for free movies on Sunday nights (check details, not sure if up to date).More

I spent only one night here, but I was pleased with my choice. They have a couple of different types of accommodations, including "regular" hotel type rooms (which I chose) and more upscale bungalows facing the water. The buildings are open and airy, and everything...is kept clean. They offered a free loan of a bicycle, which I used to get to the American Memorial (be aware of a seriously steep hill to get there). Breakfast was very nice. I enjoyed my eggs Benedict and waffles. Pigeon English is the language of the island, but English is spoken by all at the resort. I had an enjoyable evening at the Coral Sea. The restaurant is set up to suit small groups. The atmosphere is friendly. The food was good but uninspiring. The service was reasonable. The prices are reasonable though there are some expensive options. It felt more...like a high quality cafe rather than a restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere casual to go for a meal with work colleagues its a good option.More

No, I don't know - but probably finish next year. It's a nice place but I don't understand why ALL places in Honiara is a too expensive. More expensive than even Norway - and that says a lot.
