Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was told to go to Rokhat Teahouse because they serve the best Tajik noodles in Dushanbe. It did not disappoint. The place is huge and extremely busy, so expect delays in the service.
PS When I visited, Oct '22, half of the building had been demolished. It's not clear if these are renovations or relocation. It would be a great shame if this historic building get bulldozed.

Rohat is, of course, not about delicious food. This is about unique interiors and an atmosphere that is definitely worth a visit.
The food is really mediocre, there is practically nothing from the extensive menu. Lyulya is like in scourges in my student years, they cook it en masse and then heat it up. There is no beer, but there is vodka, as the waiter said, “regular” and “normal.” I took a little normal for my appetite until I went blind.
A visit is a must if you don’t want to experiment with local food - you can just drink tea, but it’s definitely worth going inside.

If you go there, eat langman and leave afterwards. It is a nice architecture and a landmark of an old Dushanbe, which is disappearing with all development construction going on. But other than that an average culinary experience.

The teahouse is located in one of the old buildings in downtown Dushanbe and the ambience of the place is pretty good. However, you need to be very careful with the waiters. They are deceitful and tamper with the bill a lot. I order just one lamb kebab but the guy had changed my bill to two skewers, thinking that I wouldn't be able to read Tajik. When I protested, the guy began being apologetic and asked me not to ask for the manager. The guy even followed me outside. I think the place is good for only once.

Whilst acknowledging the architectural and cultural values of the teahouse, the dining experience wasn't great. Maybe we should have just come for tea? However, we were there in the evening, and were guided to a separate room which was cold and "barren". We both selected different fish dishes from the menu. The food was okay but nothing exceptional. The surprise came with the bill which was by far the most expensive dinner we've had in Dushanbe - the price on the menu was for 100 g of food, not for a portion, and fish were some 500 g each! The first time ever I have come across with this kind of pricing practice anywhere in the world.

Mantas boiled, tomato salad dry and not salted, lamb barbecue-brought a shampoo on which four pieces (1 piece of meat, 1 piece of fat, 2 pieces of bone (one of them without meat at all)). Service is slow. In the end, the bill was first brought in with a larger amount, then corrected (but with the price of beer (which, by the way, was also disgusting) all cheated), but brought in a smaller amount of change saying: I have no more (like a tip so tried to get). Refusing to accept the sum with dissatisfaction, she went to her colleagues to take the missing sum from them. The building is falling apart, next to which the construction smells of welding, concrete dust, as well as the entire lunch is passing to the noise of the construction. What a cherry on the cake-pay toilet.

I was looking forward to come here to Rohat and enjoy the tea in this wonderful teahouse. Finaly found my way here and was astonished by its decoration. The place was empty, so i sat, ordered tea pot with greet tea, and i was reading my book, waiting, and waiting, then after 15 minutes still waiting and nothing was going on. Changed my look with the staff about the tea, but still nobody cares. After 25 minutes i told myself that if they dont care about few customers, im out of there....pity, such a nich place destroyed by total lack of service. I spent almost 5 and half months in Central Asia, but this was first time i experienced something like that...

I’d read all the reviews and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. However, I couldn’t fault anything with my visit. I only had the laghman and a green tea, but both were delicious. The service was great and very polite and I was never left waiting for long. Granted, there is the construction of one of the parliamentary buildings happening at the back, but that’s not their fault! Overall, a must see, even just for a drink and to take in the detail of the decoration of the place.

One of the worst culinary experiences in my life and definitely the worst in Dushanbe so far. The service is slow and there is no basic understanding with the waiters .. they bring things you do not order, or do not bring the things one orders .. and super super slow ..
food is bad .. not stale but cooked badly , burnt, tasteless
In total a waste of time and money

The decor and busy local vibe are what is important here. There is an extensive menu with some great translations into English :) and you can sit and watch the people and the street below. It's not about the food, which is fine, but the place.

I had a quick lunch here with work colleagues. Because we had limited time, we chose soup and salad. It was served quickly by friendly staff, and everything tasted great, especially the soup.

The carved doors, pillars, and ceilings are beautiful! This is a wonderful place to have tea and just admire the decor.
As a restaurant, though, it falls short. The shashlik was served lukewarm with a cold gravy. The "fresh salad" was cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, dill, and garlic, served uncut on a plate - as if you'd walked directly from the market to the table.
Instead of fried meat and vegetables and fresh noodles, the lagman had boiled ingredients served over instant noodles.
The plov was decent, but plov isn't available after about 14:00 even though it's highlighted on the menu.

This teahouse dating from the 1960s is one of the most interesting buildings on Rudaki Avenue. It combines Soviet modernist style with Central Asian nuances like slender pillars, airy porches and geometric motifs. Architecturally, it is very interesting and will satisfy a hankering for Soviet nostalgia.
The food includes bowls of noodles (laghman), fish dishes and plov. As well as tea, you can also get a beer. Costs are reasonable.

I was told that the plate I wanted to order was not available, then I was recommended (or rather talked into ordering) fish, which was simply a fried trout, pretty mediocre.
Turned out in the end that the fish was 3,50$ per 150g, I was told that I had eaten 750g = 18$ of plain frieeld trout, which is a of course a ridiculous price, above all in Dushanbe.
So this was a frustrating tourist scam and the way the waiters behaved they and us knew what was going on.
Beware of this place!
