Tartin is my new favourite in Dushanbe.
Don't get fooled by the very unassuming outside. I have walked so many times past it without even noticing it as there is no signboard outside, but once you are in, it is one of the cosiest restaurants in Dushanbe. The place has been tastefully renovated from an old building, and has an exceptionally nice ambiance. Nice colours, paintings on the walls. Nice background music.
The place is called bakery and cafe, but it serves a full menu up to steaks. We had a chicken liver salad for starters and I had chicken pasta as the main meal. The best pasta I have ever had, I think.
There bakery section is also worth checking out. They open at 7:30 in the morning so you can pick up something fresh on your way to office.
The waiter spoke very good English.

My friend and I found this place by chance and loved it. We ended up coming here several times during our stay. Great coffee, French pasties as good as it better than any in France, enjoyed delicious meals of pasta and fish. Decorated with excellent taste and style, perfect place to relax.

Good food, good ambience, good service. The staff was attentive, the prices reasonable and food excellent. We were a group of 6 friends who met for brunch and had a wonderful afternoon.We sat in the patio and the food was excellent, the juices were fresh. Just keep in mind that the only alcohol they serve is mulled red wine that was a bit odd as summers have started.

Based on the photos and reviews, I should have ordered pizza. The bread in the bakery also looked amazing. Unfortunately we were enticed by the offer of “Tomahawk Steak” at a reasonable price, which in the US is a monster porterhouse cut. Here it was a thin T-bone, tough as shoe leather. The salads, however, were the highlight - arugula with nuts and strawberries and a buffel mozerella with fried eggplant were both excellent. Service was good; I ordered a glass of wine which was clearly from an opened bottle and had gone off - when I sent it back, they offered and opened a new bottle without complaint

I have been to this spot a few times. The atmosphere, food and prices have me gravitating back regularly. Staff are friendly, good selection of dishes for any time of the day. Their Caesar salad with chicken is amazing, as are their selection of baked goods

totally enjoyed our lunch today at Tartin. It was a Wednesday and there was lots of available seating and solitude at the cafe, we understand it's very busy on weekends. Our waiter, Vohit, was great. Very friendly and spoke great English. The food was really good, we were all really happy. I had the "salad" with crispy egg plant and cheese. It wasn't listed on the menu. The presentation definitely had the "wow" factor. For Dushanbe, it was a bit pricy, but felt worth the money.

Excellent place to have a coffee and ice tea in sweltering summer. Air con inside and water spray outside. Cappuccino was great, berries cake too.
