Im not sure what to make of this place. Would I see it with a Michelin Star on its wall? I do not think so. The food and its quality were great. The deco was dated. Need freshen up. Service was a real let down....The place was chaotic when we arrived. We were seated in area where it should have never been a table. If you looking for good Thai food with a touch of history (Its been opened for quite some years) this is a place for you. Do not go there with "Michelin Star" expectations. You would not be disappointed.More

Lunch time at Sunday. Tables almost booked - should reserve. Everything is perfect. Quality of dishes, services and atmospheres. Cost is also very valuable. Strongly recommend.

An old and traditional restaurant which i suppose many locals go. They don’t speak much english, so when i tried to change the reservation on the phone, it was torture Ordered a few a la carte dishes, most are average to good, nothing impressive. They...also came randomly, and we took the plates from the waiter. Finished plates are not cleared eitherMore

When we ate here there was a band and lounge singer playing old tunes. The music was nice but not excellent. We walked in on a friday night around 18:00 and were seated without delay. The menu was quite varied and we ordered several different...dishes to share among our table of 4. The soups were very good. The green curry was delicious. The eggplant was also delicious. We compared prices later to what we had paid in some street markets and found this to be similarly priced and vastly more comfortable to eat at. It is not a large restaurant, so if you want to eat late you should make reservations. If you can stand a semi-formal atmosphere and old show tunes playing while you eat this is a great place to go. My wife and I both recommend this restaurant.More

Sorndaeng is always a wonderful choice for tradition Thai food. We had our extended family of 25 and they all enjoyed the restaurant.

A group of 4 of us came here after reading great reviews about this restaurant. Sadly we were all very disappointed. The service was poor, the waiter never even came over to take our order for drinks or food, so after waiting for 15 minutes,...we politely flagged someone down to help us. Still having high hopes for some good food, all the food that came was either cold or lukewarm, and was mediocre at best. None of the 6 dishes we ordered was good. We were in Bangkok for 1 week and every place we went to had better food than this restaurant. Price isn’t an issue because the food at this restaurant is still cheaper than what we pay in North America, but it is definitely on the pricier side for Bangkok. Would not recommend this restaurant and will never come back again.More

We were intending to go elsewhere but the restaurant was closed. So we walked a bit and came across this restaurant. As it was going to rain, we decided to dine in this restaurant for brunch. We ordered the spaghetti with holy basil, steamed mussels...and squid with lime and Chili. The food was great and delicious! The staff was formal and professional. We didn’t know it was a one-star Michelin until we googled it while waiting for our food to be served. There’s a pianist, and an older lady singing classic Thai songs for entertainment. The customers are mostly older local thais and businessmen. We were the only foreigners dressed so casual... to be fair, we didn’t plan to eat here, but we ended up having such a great dining experience even if it’s a bit eclectic to us..More

The food was great and the service top notch. The restaurant is a little over the top with gold cutlery, but I guess it’s part of the experience. Live music also adds to a traditional Thai experience.
