Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Both my wife and I ordered different burgers. All very reasonably priced. Great tasting and cooked burgers and the onion rings andr waffle fries we had were hot and cooked to perfection, nice and crispy. Place was busy (always a good sign) and we had to wait about 10 mins for a table inside but not many places were open on Labor Monday so choice in the area was limited. Some curb tabes also available. As the name implies, a very extensive Scotch Whisky / Bourbon selection available and displayed with a specific menu, but these prices are somewhat steep so we refrained (Talisker $12, Blanton's $25 a pour). Draft craft beer was inexpensice at $4.50/pint. Highly recommend this place and would definity go back if eating in downtown Augusta.

We tried to get dinner here on a Monday night (when a surprising number of restaurants in town are closed) inky to discover a one hour wait. We returned Tuesday, on the early side, and still needed to wait 15 minutes for a table. It was worth it. Winston, our waiter, was attentive, which was appreciated, especially as the kitchen was a bit slow. He took the time not only to check in but to also let us know the status of our order. The food did not disappoint. Our group of 5 all enjoyed our meals, and our customizations were all correct. The onion rings were especially good. Portions were hearty too. We would definitely visit again.

Like that you can choose a burger or chicken breast for any sandwich offering. Surprised that the chicken was moist and maybe better than the burger. Sweet potato fries or regular fries. Both good. Salads are fine. Little short on draft beer choices, however, great Whiskey choices. Liked that the bartender was willing to make a mixed drink for me that he had never made . I go by myself often and eat at the bar. Bar gets too loud fof conversations. Need some baffling for old style tin ceiling tiles. I will return.

Poor communication and long waits make this place not worth it. The food is good but not worth the frustration of driving to downtown Augusta and being told the wait is 25-30 minutes and finding waiting for actually 86 minutes. At some point you want to walk away but it is like playing slot machines, you are too invested to leave. They have a large unique variety of hamburgers with some crazy ideas “peanut butter and bananas”. I went for the Devils Peak Burger that is a five alarm that will have you needing a refreshing beverage and went for the Savannah River no jacket required lager. The price was reasonable and the food was good to average but would not say it is a must try. I wanted to go to Frog Hollow but it was a Tuesday and they were not open.

I really really want to give this place 1 star. But the food was so yummy. The atmosphere is the problem. We were there on a Sunday night and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. We took the first available which happened to be outside. My husband and I both grew up in North Augusta (10 minutes) from downtown Augusta. We typically avoid downtown and last night was a vivid reminder why. We sat down and within 10 minutes we had a guy at our table asking for change. Then another and another and another. One even asked for a 20.00 when my husband said we didn't have any change. I understand everyone can fall in hard times. I understand that I am probably going to get slammed for this review but I hope that someone can help this business. The reality of it is that we will not go back unless it is to go. The city of Augusta needs to be told and help businesses downtown. It is extremely uncomfortable to try have a very rare date night when we were asked for money walking to and from the business; along with 5 or 6 times while eating. Nobody asked us for food. My husband is a saint and deals with the less fortunate on a daily basis with his job. He would've 100% bought someone a burger or something to eat. But that was never asked.... Seems to me that a restaurant with aged Whiskey, scotch, gin and various types of things ranging from $5.00- $200.00 would want to enforce some sort of restrictions. The food again was so good! I got the Elway and I loved it. I just wish we would've sat inside or maybe got it to go. Super disappointed in the entire "downtown experience."

I’m not allowed to be upset because a waitress added five dollars to my tip. Had to take the time out of my day to come down here and confront the co owner with my paperwork. I was refunded the five dollars but the manager refused to give me any other compensation such as a gift card for my time. She stated it was because I was angry about the situation which I definitely had the right to be.

I have reviewed this place before. However it’s been a year now since we were last here. Let me tell you something, it’s even better than we remembered. The service was awesome, the Whiskey Basin Ribeye skillet was great. You could cut the steak with a fork, it was so tender. My wife says the Buffalo Chicken dip is to die for. I had a drink called the Irish Red Head, very nice drink, I would definitely order it again. We stayed at the Hyatt House Hotel, we could walk from the hotel to the restaurant. That’s a big plus, because we both wanted to have drinks to celebrate our anniversary. All in all this is probably my favorite place to eat in the Augusta area for dinner.

The restaurant is very cozy and clean. Great variety of bar drinks. The beef bowl was very tasty as well as the buffalo chicken sandwich! Kids menu available and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Went to Whiskey Bar Kitchen while my brother and his family were in town. The food was good- we each had a burger & there was something to suit everyone. I thought the sweet potato fries with coconut dipping sauce were good and very unique.

Not what it used to be. Was looking forward to a great lunch at Whiskey Bar as it had been a few years since I had been there. Although my burger arrived quickly and cooked to perfect temperature, it wasn’t as flavorful as I remembered. My burger arrived without any silverware or napkins and when finally I got the attention of an employee, I was given plastic ware. I sat at the bar and the bartender, did not even check in to see how my meal was. Many staff there but not in tuned at all to the customers! If this is the #2 restaurant in Augusta, that is pretty sad. Won’t be back!

Good food and friendly servers. But an hour of waiting to get a table + the waitress forgot the ketchup, my extra bacon, overcooked the steak and added ice cubes that we had asked to remove. In short, not very focused.

I had take out. It was ready when I arrived. I had a teriyaki plate. The rice was sticky as it should be and the Teriyaki sauce was good. The chicken was a tad overcooked. I had a house salad which had lots of veggies, including cucumber sweet pickles, mushrooms, onion, carrots, tomatoes and for no reason whatsoever mozzarella cheese on top.

My son said his burger was the best he ever had. The bananas caramelized and softened creating a creamy sauce for his burger. My burger had fried pickles like none I have had before… AMAZING! Not sure why the don’t offer them as an appetizer.

The food is good and the service very good. The list of single malt scotches is pretty large and well priced. We also had dinner of pork belly wraps and curry pork katsu. It was good. Great atmosphere for this downtown restaurant.

Had an amazing dinner on a Saturday night. Waited about 30 minutes for indoor seating. I had the Tokyo beef bowl and it was soooo good! Had a side salad with it that was also very tasty. Friend had one of the burgers with waffle fries and said her meal was delicious too. Very cool place with awesome food. Definitely would return!
