I came with some friends (total 4 adults and 1 kid) and ordered a shrimp spread and dip (Sat daily special $6.99 instead of $9.99). The spread was basically a shrimp salad with some crackers. I was expecting some bread. The spread was seasoned well and would go well with some housemade bread. Unfotunately, I had to eat it with some crackers. The service was decent and the waitress came to refill our drinks often. The bill came and 17% of gratuity was added.

We were visiting my aunt about a mile away and stopped here afterwards for lunch. We were seated in the back which was preferred over the crowded bar area. We both had the Friday lunch special for $9.89: Fried shrimp & fries w Iced tea. We both had unsweetened tea, which was refilled often plus we got to-go cups. The tea was included with the lunch special. The shrimp were very fresh and butterfly shrimp, which are my favorite. Service was welcoming and efficient. Men's room was as one would expect in a bar-not as nice as a fancy restaurant but as clean as possible given the clients with many dirty writings with fake names and/or phone numbers??? This is the reason for only a 4 rating. Given the price and quality of food, I would return her frequently if I lived in the area, but this was my first time to/through Augusta in almost 40 years! I hope to return when I visit my now 94 year old aunt again as I pass through area in 2023! Note: This restaurant does NOT charge a credit card fee. Those that do are lowering the demand for those who use credit cards. Credit card users tend to spend more and tip better. When a fee is charged for this “convenience”, many people will go elsewhere, spend less, or even deduct the fee from their usual tip amount, which only hurts their hard working staff!. Since most of these places are not chain restaurants, they are only hurting themselves and their employees with these fees. Please charge fair prices to all based on your costs, including inflation, but don’t penalize your best clients with an “inconvenience” surcharge fee. For those that do, it’s time for an Economics lesson!

Craig and Amy opened their first establishment in 1983 and it has become a local favorite. Now it might not look like much on the outside but don't let that fool you. The house motto is “Beyond Casual” their beach shack vibe, Southern-style seafood food served on paper plates, all while sitting on indoor & outdoor picnic tables provides that laid back comfortable dining experience. So don't miss out and check out Rhineharts Oyster Bar and enjoy your night and have a great casual dinner.

Very disappointed in the whole experience. We ordered the Lime Butter Grilled Tilapia and Katfish Plate both items were overcharged on receipt the menu said Katfish $16.99 and Tilapia $12.25 and the Steak Dip did not even show a price on the menu. The receipt charged us $19.99 for Katfish and $14.50 for Tilapia. We had to ask our waitress for utensils, napkins, dressing for salad w/Tilapia plate, bread and coleslaw for Katfish plate, and Au Jus for Steak Dip. After waiting & locating our original waitress, she finally brought all items out except for the bread (never received). By this time, salad was warm since it shared same plate with hot Tilapia and rice. Tilapia was over-seasoned and overcooked. The bread on steak dip was not toasted at all. The hush puppies were overcooked and had an incredibly hard crust on outside. We dined inside, however, flies kept trying to land in our food. We continually had swat flies out of our food while dining. The picnic style table was sticky. We did catch the overprice on the Katfish so waitress discounted our receipt by $3.00, however, we did not catch the overprice on grilled tilapia. We sat along side a bar that was not being used, but stored various items you would see in a storage closet such as workers purses, plastic cups, etc. The walls are covered with written words and drawings by patrons which all over the cinder block walls. It looked and felt dirty. Overall the whole experience (atmosphere, service, food, and price) was bad.

One of the worst restaurants I have been to in my life. Service was fine. Food was awful. Only thing that was good were the oysters- that seems to be because they weren’t tainted by the hands of whomever prepared the food. I should have known this would be one of the worst encounters of my life when even the beer was so horrid I couldn’t bear to chug it- I simply ordered another drink rather than have one more ounce of that revolting beverage touch my tongue. Side of fries seemed as if they were boiled or even pulled from a lake after being used as catfish bait- because I’m not sure of any other living creature that would consume them. Salad tasted as if it were pulled straight from the dirt and never washed or prepared. Even garlic bread tasted horrible (tasted like actual dirt) until it was smothered in additional garlic butter. The hush puppies had zero seasoning and I won’t even insult a ‘Child’s Chef Kitchen’ through comparison of cooking abilities. The reviews on this restaurant are entirely misleading and it makes me question the palate of the people who enjoyed this food. If I had been recommended this restaurant by someone, it would make me question what I had ever done to wrong that person and why they would send me to such a horrible place.

I came from Columbia, SC to do some work, and a friend told me I had to go to Rhinehart's and get the fried shrimp. I sat at the bar and told Morgan. the bartender what my friend had told me, and she replied with "the fried shrimp basket, with fries and tartar and cocktail sauce?" I could tell she really knew her products. She brought me a Coke, and the basket came out pretty quickly, and everything was fantastic! Morgan was friendly yet professional with me and the other guests at the bar, and even brought me into their conversation. The other guests agreed that the fried shrimp was great, and in the future that I should also try the oysters and the burgers. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great, and I will definitely be back, and tell more friends about it too! Thank you Morgan and Rhinehart's for great lunch experience!

Very unique establishment and excellent food as well. The Esha Wings I purchased was very scrumptious and the flavor truly stood out alot. I had in mind to try the HillBilly Burger but eventually I settled on the chicken wings instead especially since the weather that day was very rainy and made it sure the food was to go. The trip to Rhinehart's was absolutely worth the trip, :)

This place does indeed look shabby! That didn't bother us a bit. It seems to be as clean as you can get such a facility and the old building has character than chains and fast food joints will never have. Service: Very friendly and efficient. Food: The very best fried oysters I had, and that includes Apalachicola. Fantastic fresh fries cooked and seasoned just right. Not the best shrimp and grits I've had, but better than average restaurant fare. The only negative I can think of is that it's hard to get out of this place with spending a good bit more than you might like, especially at lunchtime. That being said, quality doesn't come cheap. I plan to return at least once a week for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended.

Met an old friend who now works in Augusta for lunch while traveling to Savannah. He picked this place although he later admitted that he had never eaten here before. The place was very casual as we sat on picnic tables but were fine with that as the service and food was very good. My wife and friend both had the fried shrimp basket which was seven very good fried shrimp with French fries while I had the Lime Butter Garlic Shrimp plate. My plate was grilled garlic shrimp with a light lime flavor over rice with a small salad and some delicious toast. It made for a very good lunch, so much so that my friend asked me what I had ordered because he was going to stop by the night after work and get an order of it to go. All in all, a nice laid-back lunch, which was perfect for we were looking for lunch on the go.

We have eaten at Rhinehart’s for the past 10 years. We were disappointed in the menu - they didn’t offer an oyster basket as we have always ordered that in the past. The shrimp basket was just okay. The quantity of shrimp is less than before. The raw oysters were small, not impressed. Service was just okay. We had to ask for beverage refills as server couldn’t be found.

Just overrated. The shrimp were not clean. You can see the large intestinal tract in the shrimp and grits. Not appetizing at all. The shrimp batter was gummy. Not crispy. The tartar sauce was weird tasting. Thankfully the shrimp were on special. I would have been very upset to pay full price for this meal. The fries were really good. Best part of the meal. Will not return and do not recommend.

We had a late lunch about 2pm and there were several customers at the bar and in the dining room. I had the Sticky Honey Glazed Fried Shrimp Basket with grits with shredded cheese on top. The food was good, the service was friendly and quick, and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was very casual as you would expect from an oyster bar, with picnic tables in the dining room and food/drinks served in disposable containers.

Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. I don't usually like food served on disposable plates but this was very good. Just know it's very casual. Entrees are around $14 to $20. Alcohol is served. Service was very good and couldn't believe how quickly we got our order. Large portions.

We went toRhineharts on a recommendation from the hotel as we have never visited Augusta before. This restaurant did not disappoint. If you like fish, this is a great stop. The food came quickly and was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful. There isn’t any dessert but that is fixed easily with a stop at a local ice cream shop. :) Would definitely stop again if we are in Augusta.
