Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pretty much only beer and chips are available shame really as it used to be awesome bar food with cocktails etc , the low review is due to lack of food options

Since Tantalus could not accommodate us for lunch we came downstairs to eat at Alibi. The beer and cocktails were delicious. They had very good truffle fries.

We both had a tasting plate of 4 beers which also included a really nice apple cider. One of the beers was a raspberry & coconut beer which I loved but my husband didn’t like it that much but he loved the pilsner beer. Great...setting and excellent that we could take our dog there too.More

We stopped of here while on the HOHO bus around the island only to find there was half an hour to wait before opening time. But we sat outside on their terrace overlooking beautiful countryside and the wait was well worth it. I had a...tasting paddle, followed by a glass of my favourite, and my wife had the cider. All were excellent with the ales having very clearly defined differences. This is a very professional craft brewery and it was a pleasure to meet the brewer himself and to see the gleaming brewing equipment. The staff were great, and so were the truffle chips.More

Had the beer tasting paddle, when I like the Bohemain Pilsner. Great romantic indoor or sunny outdoor when the weather is great.

I don’t know that as fact, but that was the other option if not stopping at Alibi (it’s across the road), but it is a very strong presumption. We arrived just after 12pm on a Sunday and it was quiet, but soon became busy. As...such we had fantastic seats looking out over a couple of vineyards. Service was prompt and friendly. Only had time for one beer (a seasonal American Brown Ale) which was excellent and the olives were some of the best we’ve had. The olive assessment is from my wife who believes herself to be something of an olive connoisseur. Sad that they have to insist on payment upfront or the leaving of a credit/debit card behind the bar. Poor form people who do “runners” at all, let alone at a beautiful venue like this. Excellent venue and it was only a shame we didn’t have more time to enjoy here!More

Called in to have a beer tasting. Excellent staff especially Bianca who was outstanding as our waitress. Even had the chief come outside for a chat. Lovely surroundings, yummy food and great beer tasting if you drink beer ( they also have wine). Thank you...for a great afternoon.More

What a wonderful place. A few work colleagues and I popped in 1 afternoon and were greeted by the best customer service I have received in years. Bianca was an absolute champion. Ridiculously funny, extremely knowledgeable. She had us laughing for hours-what a legend. The...beers were great and the food was fantastic. Cool bathrooms too :)More

Part of the set up at Tantalus Winery on Waiheke Island, this is a fantastic brewery doing great beers and serving very good food - and all in a fantastic location overlooking the vines and olive trees across to Waiheke Golf Course. Had a tasting...paddle of four beers. They do a couple of pilseners and IPAs all of which are very good, as is their Pale Ale. Their signature truffle fries are also very good.More

This place for beer tasting mainly. They have their own brewery and there are about 15 different beers available. We took tasting platter and that was very good choice. Your could taste 4 beers (about 0,15 l per each) by 7€. One of the best...deals I have ever made. They have also food available but that’s secondary issue there. Alibi brewery is in practise in the same building with Tantalus winery where you could have wine tasting and fine dining lunch/dinner.More

We came for lunch -- 12:15pm; no waiting for a table. We'd been warned that the main plates are big enough for two, so we ordered a small plate each and had enough left over for lunch at home the next day! Delicious food, really...tasty beer, and prompt service. We sat outside looking at the rolling hills of Waiheke. The only slightly weird note was that the waiter asked for a credit card when we arrived, to run up a tab. In my book this is OK for night clubs and shady bars, but not for a top-class establishment like Alibi's. Anna, the Lounge manager, later explained why they do this; turns out it helps the staff keep tabs on customers, however it didn't sit well with this customer. Anna says they hope to have a different system in place by November. Then they'll get 5 stars from me, or even 6!!More

On a day trip to the island stopped off at the estate and tried the taster paddle - all outstanding beers. The bar snacks were reasonably priced for the quality given - a variety of olives in a warm olive oil dressing with wonderful crispy...rosemary (never had anything quite like this before!) and home made pretzels with a cheese/beer sauce. Stayed far longer than we'd planned for. Highly recommended.More
