Such a warm welcoming bar with the best views right on the harbour - hence the name! We enjoyed great gin, mulled wine and pizzas. Highly recommended.

We went here for happy hour 4-7pm for a drink. It was a wet dark night. The staff were friendly and kept making sure we were warm and bringing beanies for our laps. There are two fires going and can imagine it is a great...spot when the sun is out. The food going by looked really nice too.More

Wonderful location, vibe and food. This place is the full package. We shared a prosciutto and spinach thin crust pizza plus a bowl of hand cut fries. The topping was generous and the thin crust wonderfully crusty - perfect! Fries were the icing on the...meal :-) Highly recommended especially with a view like this. This bar has the best atmosphere in Akaroa. Huge choice of gin and tonic. Right on the waterfront. Knowledgeable staff.

We were so looking forward to reaquainting ourselves with Harbar after many visits here. The pizza and fries were great, drinks fine although pricey, views as good as ever, service fine. Unfortunately now only barstools at high tables, we did see retired folk arrive and...struggle getting onto them, the music too loud overpowering the ambience of this beauty spot, but the worst thing of all, DOGS at the tables! There were four when we arrived, two having a scrap over food under a table, one sitting up on a bar stool at the table with its owners, needless to say where the slobber was landing! It just wasn't the same, sadly we will be reluctant to return now unless things improve.More

Friendly staff, absolutely awesome extensive Gin Menu!! Food was delicious! We had a group of 11 and we all enjoyed the views, drinks, food and the service. The views of course are an added extra, if we had the time, I'm sure we could've spent...the whole afternoon there. Popular options amongst our group were the taco's. The pizza is also amazing with such a lovely base/crust that isn't too thick and just enjoyable to eat, also big enough to share between 2.More

We didn't eat here but visited a couple of times for a drink early evening. They have some good beers & wines (Three Boys is a great brew) and sitting looking over the harbour is fantastic - what a location for a bar! Service was...excellent.More
