I was a little surprised that such a small restaurant could produce some of the best food I've ever eaten! Tuna was fish of the day and absolutely fantastic.... I saw the menu appeared small, but everything was perfect! And also the wine I paired...with the tuna was great! Thanks to Alistair (I think was his name) we were completely impressed with all aspects of dinner... A definite repeat customer here!More

Quite simply, the food was divine. Our friends had the salmon entree and she said that it’s the best thing she has ever eaten. Three of us had their signature dish, the eye fillet and they were all superb. Beautifully cooked and seasoned to perfection....You have to come to this special little place in AkaroaMore

The little Bistro gave us the best dining experience for some years. Previously our best meal out was 25 years ago in Milan, Italy. The Little Bistro takes the lead now. The food was perfectly cooked and the taste was sensational. As with any dining...experience it is the people that make it special and the older man looking after the dining room was as perfect as the Canterbury lamb. He knew his stuff and was clearly a hands-on and seasoned restaurateur. The special person of the evening was the young lady that was responsible for the wine list which features the best of the Canterbury Region. She was knowledgeable and has a palate for quality and interesting wines. The three staff that we spoke with, including the fellow in the kitchen who was giving himself a break outside as we left, were engaging and lovely people.More

The menu was mouth watering and we we were not disappointed. Wow. Unique flavours including the starter of duck ( it wasn’t mousse but I can’t remember the fancy name) profiteroles and main meal which was accompanied by blue cheese stuffed Yorkshire pudding. We had...a red wine recommended which was utterly delicious too. If we ever visit the quaint village of Akaroa again this restaurant will be a must!!More

The most amazing food, great informative FOH staff, beautiful setting. And finally a vegetarian option that is just as tasty as all the rest! (Mushroom and goats cheese ravioli) Without a doubt will be back for a return visit!

Fabulous atmosphere, fantastic and amusing service, food wise the red wine was perfectly matched with the signature aged beef dish. The ravioli was a handmade delicacy. We must all get out and support our local treasures such as this during these COVID times.

Me and my partner absolutely LOVED our experience at "Little Bistro". Charming little restaurant with unique atmosphere. Food 10 out of 10! We had amuse bouche with venison and glass of stunning Canterbury merlot/ cabernet to start with and shared pork and lamb for our...main event. Food was superb, impressive wine selection and great service. Highly recommending to visit this restaurant if you are in Akaroa.More
