This fish and chip shop has the best fresh fish. Local fisherman owns it so fresh fish for sure. Batter crispy. The price is so good. $17 for fish of the day and chips for two people and was so much food. Highly recommend this...place.More

Fantastic fresh moki and chips. Been a long time since had a better piece of fish from a chippy! Full marks for quality and generous portion size!

The chips tasted like they had been re heated in a microwave and the fish was soggy and over cooked, the crab stick was over cooked as well and the "spring roll" was just over cooked dry pastry with plain mince in it. The chicken...burger was the only thing that actually tasted alright, disappointed and defiantly won't be back.More

Delicious fresh fish and chips. We got battered fish (gurnard), chips, battered hot dog and pineapple rings. All delicious and generous portion sizes. Great for a quick eat and wish we’d gone back twice!

Locals told us to go here for the very best fish and chips, they weren't wrong!! The fish melted in your mouth, golden crisp batter, not greasy and do generous with amount. Its our new go-to when we visit Akaroa. Don't miss this place and...don't waste your money and time going to the other one on the main street - it doesn't compare.More

This afternoon I purchased fish and chips from this shop... having arrived in Akaroa just minutes before closing time, a late lunch/early dinner. I ordered 1piece of the elephant fish and half a scoop of chips ($9.50)... it was enough to feed 2 people and......absolutely DELICIOUS and YUMMY. 😘 Checked into my accommodation and enjoyed them with a Lindauer, watching Emirates Team NZ win the 36th America's Cup on tele. Well done guys (Murphy's On The Corner and Team NZ) 👏More

Visited Murphy's On the Corner today, with 4 generations of our family, the baby slept throughout, and 90 year old Great Grandma was very impressed with the freshness of the gurnard. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the portions were very generous and the...fish was sooooooooooooooo good, maybe even better than Cooper's Catch in Kaikoura. Best fish and chips in Akaroa by far, and a good price. Thank you for a very good experience!More

Absolutely Delicious! Got the gurnard for 2... more than enough for 2 of us. The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted so fresh. The wedges of lemon are a nice touch. Service was fast and friendly. Thank you

With a life time of visiting Akaroa and there only ever being one Fish and Chip shop thank god there is a choice now as the original one is now so over priced and disappointing that is not worth visiting. We tried Murphys recently and...we were really pleased with the standard and pricing. The only negative was the Tartare sauce they were selling was terrible and really was just a cheap mayonnaise and didn't have the required gherkins and capers to make it a real tartare sauce which would have made our meal perfect. The sauce was terrible and we didn't eat it after the first taste.More
