After a 39 min walk from downtown, this oasis really was a bliss! Most fiendly hosting and information about the local beers, and a good tasting left us completely satisfied! Next time we bring our son too (+29y)!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the beer, food and ambience of this ‘out of the tourist area’ evening, however we were disappointed with the service. We arrived about 20.00 on a Tuesday evening to find only one table available (definitely worth booking if you want to visit!), we were shown to our table but not given any menus. After 10 mins or so I went off and found some - great that they had English language versions - we chose the beer and snack menu - but still no one came to take our order. Eventually we managed to flag down a waitress as she was serving another table and she took our order. I wondered if she was perhaps new to the job, she explained that she couldn’t remember all the beers, but she was polite and friendly which made up for her lack of knowledge. The food and beer were delicious and well paired and we’re happy to give them a top rating but after waiting more than an acceptable time to be asked about coffee and dessert we went in search of service yet again only to be told at 21.50 that the kitchen closes at 22.00 and the staff had gone home. We’d like to hope that this evening was an exception staffing wise as otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Fantastic range of Latvian beers and ciders available as well as their homemade vodka and distilled vodka beer, although think the latter is definitely an acquired taste! The food is gastropub level and I had an excellent fish and chips and my husband really enjoyed his duck confit. Excellent and unusual dessert of a chicory sponge. Service was friendly and our waitress also advised on the beers available. A mainly younger age range when we were there on Saturday evening but everyone welcome.

We had a wonderfull tour in special dishes prepared to open the unknown bear taste compartements. Perfect additon was not only Chef himself, but also a bear sommelier that introduced breewing methods. If a great bear something you would like to meet, then a must visit place!

Not sure whether I like this place more for their food or their beer. I had fried herrings and a duck breast dish for dinner. Both were delicious. I also tried several of their beers, with the smoked dark beer being my favorite. It was a touch sweet which served as a nice offset to the smoked flavor. The Beer Embassy offers a wide variety of beers from other breweries in addition to their own. There’s even more beer available for take-out at the adjacent beer shop.

A really good restaurant. The service was exquisite and fast. The waiter knew wich beers would match our food and as we followed his suggestions we noticed he really knew what he was talking about. The food and the beer was really good. What bothered us was the fact that despite it being just around 8 o'clock, half the main dishes were not available or sold out or something.

Food is delicious and the place is OK, but we were disappointed by two things. First, we reserved a table a day before. When we came, the waiter offered to us one right in front of the entry door in the crosshairs of drafts, although other tables were available. This ruined the ambience immediately. Second, they had their menu translated into English but not into Russian, although half of Riga's inhabitants are Russian-speakers. So our parents were unable to read complicated titles of the dishes and we had to translate everything for them. So, as we understood, the place clearly targets Latvians and foreign tourists, but is not interested in Russian-speaking clientele. Sad. Everything else was ok.

A great restaurant linked to a fascinating beer shop that has all the local craft brands. Excellent food, although it is sometimes a bit crowded. I have been there five times and will definitely come back!

Wonderful 4 course lunch with appropriate beer to go with each course. All ingredients sourced locally. Complements to the chef. Beer was fantastic as well. Same thing can be said for service. A group of 40 people from APT Australia enjoyed the wonderful lunch tremendously. Well done Valmiermuiza and APT.

I enjoyed the place for food and beer before, but last time there was an extremely unpleasant and child unfriendly waiter. Charged 7euros for plain pasta for kids. The place should get service trained staff or just stick to the core beer business.

We were recommended this place to buy bottled beers of various flavors and types (which we did). Attached to this beer store, we noticed this restaurant where they serve the beers on tap, along with snacks and dishes inspired by the beers themselves. Not having any diner plans, we decided to give it a try. From the get-go, the service was extremely slow. There are a few tables outside, seating about 10-12 people. It was half-full. Inside, there is a seating capacity of approx. 40 people. It was, here again, about half-full. The two waiters (a guy and a girl) seemed to have a hard time keeping up with what was going on, though. It took our waiter about 25 minutes to come take our drinks and meal order. This is WAY too long by any standard. The food menu offers very interesting options though, ranging from snacks, to bigger dishes to even a 3-course meal special. We decided to share the fish plate... which is basically a fish-and-chips... with no chips. You can buy them as a side for 5 Euros. We did. The fish was a salmon-like pink fish, fried in beer batter. We were served too generous pieces. The fish to batter ratio was pretty good... We were not just eating batter. As for the chips, they were new potatoes that had been fried. They were very good, actually. This was a nice experience altogether, that definitely could be upgraded with a better service next time. Yes, we do intend to go back... as it is a very nice setting and great place to bring friends for an happy hour.

Visited here for a nice beer as we saw it highlighted in a Riga beer district leaflet. The beers left us disappointed - a bit tasteless and flat. We found this with all 4 we tried. The food was better than expected but not anything we’d return for. The chicken pesto pasta was tasty but I stopped after a gristly bit of chicken. The black sausage with egg dish was very nicely presented and tasted good. It wasn’t busy at all here on a Sunday evening and there was no atmosphere either.
