Delish cold beetroot soup, served with potatoes. I was also instructed on the correct way to eat the soup - one should not stir the potatoes in with the soup but eat them alongsid, with the soup.
As I don't eat meat, the chef's complimentary dish of poultry was quickly changed to a chick pea alternative.
The food was quite inexpensive, the beetroot soup only 9 euros.
The service was amicable and attentive. A strong recommendation!

Great little place! In the heart of Riga, it is a super cute, stylish and cozy restaurant. As soon as we arrived they made us put our coats in a special closet and made us sit. The waiters very kind, considerate, the food is very good and has many typical and delicious dishes based on mushrooms, potatoes, meat, we really enjoyed a beautiful dinner. I highly recommend

We only got a table spontaneously because we went there as soon as it opened. So it's worth reserving in advance. For starters we had the porcini mushroom soup, served in bread with cranberries, which I can warmly recommend. For the main course we had the house sausage, filet mignon and one of the potato pancake-like dishes, all very tasty and perfectly prepared. Finally, for dessert we had the Latvian bread pudding, which was also very tasty. To drink we had a dark beer, which also went well with the food. Even if the high prices put some people off, I can say that it is definitely worth it. We were served by Alina, who always made sure that we were completely satisfied and also gave us tips on the dishes. To sum up: Not exactly cheap, but definitely recommended!

I recently tried Milda, and honestly, it was not really good....The service was really very slow, and my food was brought almost cold, tasteless. Definitely not good for the money. Overall, not a place I'd recommend.

The service staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. No nice atmosphere. Missing candles on the tables or anything else appropriate. The toilets were not cleaned for half a day and no paper for drying hands was refilled. We recognized it when we made the reservation in the early afternoon and when we visited in the evening. There were three of us. Two of them ordered the vegetarian option and instead of meat we got nothing with the 4 potato pancakes and paid the usual price. Our plates were also cleared away including glasses while the third lady at the table was still eating.

We went here with high expectations. Service started ok, but degraded rapidly. We ordered two appetizers (dumplings & veal tongue), mushroom soup bread bowl, two mains (duck & deer) and two desserts (carrot cake & bread pudding).
The appetizers looked nice but were very bland, and desperately needed salt. The soup was the only item that both looked & tasted great. The duck was overcooked and barely warm. The deer was under cooked (bloody), and the celery was literally cold stalks, not cooked at all. The desserts were ok, but ruined by the fact that our server wanted to spend nearly 20 minutes chatting with coworkers while the food sat on the counter.
In fact the service was not good throughout. He took away empty drink glasses but didn't ask if we wanted more. He made no effort to crumb or clean the table after the bread bowl was finished.
There's ample room for improvement in nearly every area here.

Googled this restaurant on a prior trip to Riga and found that there is a Michelin restaurant with affordable prices, some people did not like this place but we decided to try it out. It is located on the edge of old town and the exterior wasn't too promising, but inside all good and cozy. It wasn't full but we waited for food for some time, but this was ok.
The food was OK, not bad but the expectation was something else. The waiter also should be more interested in how the guests like the food etc. Since prices were sensible you can say it was just a basic restaurant.
If you are looking for culinary enjoyment, this is not the place for you.

The wife had been recommended this restaurant by a colleague who had been in Riga earlier this summer.
And we weren't disappointed.
We both love to taste new dishes, and they have plenty of options here. I was given a red beet salad with goat cheese to prepare while my wife had a soup served in a bread. We both took the blood sausage as the main dish.
They have no decided children's dishes on the menu.
But our waitress Paula was nice to choose one of their potato dishes minus the meat, for him. She was also good at helping us find a wine that we both liked. Not quite as easy as my wife and I are at each end of the taste scale when it comes to wine. So we often end up getting a wine that only one of us likes. But not here with Paula.
So we'd love to come back.
But remember to book a table if you want to eat dinner here. We saw the first 10 pairs being rejected at the door as they had full booked.

The service was wonderful - we were attended to from the moment we arrived, with our bulky coats being removed and stored, to being seated and served. Questions about the menu were readily answered and the resulting choices were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. A delightful evening! We made a reservation, which I think is a good plan as it was busy.

We booked our table more than a week in advance. We were seated inside and everything was fine. A lot of guests so it was rather noisy and wsrm inside. We ordered starters with wine and main courses with a bottle of wine. After starters (that came rather quickly) we were told by our waiter that there was a bit of rush in the kitchen and that we would have to wait for our main courses. We waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes (!) before the main course arrived. That is not all right, especially for a restaurant recommended by Michelin. The food was tasty and portions large, maybe even too large. The waiter was friendly but because of the extremly long waiting time before food arrived we were a bit dissapointed.

Reservations are highly recommended at this wonderful restaurant serving local Latvian specialties with a creative twist. Alina was the most gracious waitress. An excellent place to start getting acquainted with Baltic gastronomy: there are gray peas with lard and tongue appetizers and a whole section of the menu dedicated to potato dishes. With a glass of good wine or a mug of amber beer, everything goes great!
Convenient location in the quiet eastern part of the Old Town and, most importantly, hospitable and professional staff leave a very pleasant impression of the evening.

Perfect place for a meal (equal thing, lunch, dinner,...) with traditional Rigan food. The place is nice and simple, the music is not deafening but pleasant, the food delicious, you do not have to wait long and is very accurate both in presentation and flavors. All surrounded by a service not pressing but not even absent: our waitress, Arzu, was simply there when it was needed, very discreet, provided in perfect English many explanations about dishes and drinks.
If we ever return to Riga we would be happy to return to Milda too!

We had an early dinner at about 6 pm eating inside. The food was excellent. The garlic bread was amazing and the main courses where very good.
Our waiter did not want to be working and you could tell it by their body language and the tone of their voice. They were not friendly, no smile. When they were not at a table they congregated with the other waiters near the bar talking and laughing. I saw the same behavior from another waiter at a table near us.
This was our worst experience here. They are so many great restaurants here in Riga. Trying to understand this restaurant‘s excellent ratings.
