About
The restaurant Domini Canes is located in a place of historical significance: in the old town amongst the churches of St. Peter and St. John. From both the summer terrace and the tables within the restaurant you will see the picturesque St. Peter’s. Yet what good would the interior be without an adequate menu? We have given it much thought: our chef has created an interesting selection of contemporary cuisine dishes. The menu is based on seasonally available local products, the riches that the Latvian fields and forests provide, featuring vegetables grown on small Latvian farms and mushrooms and berries picked in the woods.

A really lovely place. The service was impeccable and the food tasty and delicious. This is a popular place so it would be wise to book a table (especially if you are more than two people).

We popped in without a booking and despite being fully booked, they made every effort to allocate us some time. We were not disappointed - the food was incredible. We all had a different main course and could not fault the quality and presentation of...our meals - absolutely delicious. So good that we all opted for a dessert - again all were blown away The staff were so helpful and friendly. Complete compliments to the chef The venue and ambience are just perfectMore

Wonderful cozy elegant atmosphere, super friendly staff, unique flavours. They were also very knowledgeable about gluten, and said they could make almost anything on the menu gluten free.

Very quiet little restaurant, with good quality food and generous portions. Service felt a bit slow, considering there was just another table when we came, but food was worth the wait.

Incredibly efficient and friendly waiter! We were very happy with the food. We got good recommendations for the wine that goes together with the food.

This was a very cozy place with pleasant staff and excellent food! We really enjoyed our visit and will be coming back! The food was the star, although the atmosphere is very lovely. The place is not very big, so maybe not suited for large...crowds and I would recommend to book a table in advance ;)More

Made our trip in Riga! We went to this restaurant because of the great reviews, and it really lived up to the hype and more. Went in first for a lunch and ordered the camenbert starter and the beef carpaccio. AMAZING. had some amazing white...wine recommended by the kind and knowledgeable waiter. Loved it so much that we ordered a table for dinner the next time. This time i had the latvian pork ribs, which was amazing, and had the camenbert dish again as a starter. Had some red wine this time as recommended from the waiter/somelier. Such a great combo. We had some drinks as well that was amazing. Fine glassware to match with all the fine wine and liquids. Over to the service: we all loved it so much, and it really made our time. Such good recommendations and knowlegde of the food and wine.More

Riga Old Town has a very nice ambiance and some very good and cozy places to enjoy your meals. Opposite St Peter's Church is the very delicious restaurant Domini Canes. The food is amazing and very well-priced. 'Raites' (I think I remember his name correctly)...was the guy who hosted and served us very warmly and we enjoyed our lunch. The lady working with him was also very nice and warm, polite and gentle, with a beautiful smile. We had an excellent lunch and we hope to see you soon again. The prices were very very good! Thank you and bravo!More

We hadn’t booked so we didn’t think we’d get in on a Saturday night as it was busy but they managed to get a table at 8.30 which was for us. Cool wine menu printed on to actual wine bottles. Food was tasty and felt...a bit healthier than the usual Latvian food we’d gone for (without being worthy). I ordered what I thought was trout but I think was actually salmon - maybe something got lost in translation. Pleasant food, service and ambiance.More

We had a great birthday dinner at Domini Canes. Both the food and service were excellent. We can recommend this restaurant, also for people with coeliac disease. We’ ll come again when visiting Riga.

So… usually when we are on holiday we prefer to eat at different places to experience as much local cuisine as possible but on this last break we broke that rule for a very good reason… we were lucky enough to have booked a table...at Dominic Canes on our first evening and the experience was so great we came back twice more. - including being lucky enough to get a table on New Years Eve! Cosy atmosphere aided by excellent and attentive service and topped off with fabulous food (really… duck is a particular favourite of mine and this was the best I’ve eaten anywhere in the world! All this you would expect to come with a hefty price tag but no; we found the pricing to be very reasonable. Our one piece of advice is to book ahead of time; we lost track of how many people were politely turned away each night - testimony to just how popular this place is and it’s great location in the centre of the Old Town.More
