Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very decent option - we visited for lunch. Everything tasted fresh and was carefully prepared. The service was discreet and efficient. We just found some the dishes a little plain and blunt.

The food was immaculate. Not only provides Latvian food but also an array of Eastern European dishes. I was with a company of 8 people and we didn’t have anything booked , we just showed up and they still found a table for us. One...of the party members required gluten free dishes and they still had a variety of choice for also that. If you’re thinking of going/ visiting let this be your reassurance. Absolutely 100% go. The ambience was very cozy an warm and the staff lovely. We had an array of dishes from the eel , to the lamb soup to the potato’s magpies. Everything there is very tasty!More

Having had a great day in Riga, we looked for great food, too. Luckily, Zviedru Vãrti, had a table available. Wonderful dinner! We enjoyed Lavtian dishes, which were outstanding. At Zviedru Vãrti we also enjoyed desserts. Yummi. Very delicious. We can only strongly recommend any...visitor to Riga to enjoy their dinner at this place.More

Nice old style Latvian restaurant in the Old Town. We were uncertain what we should eat but the waitress helped out with the menu (we were not brave enough to try the eels 😁). We had starters of salmon pancakes and black pudding. Both tasty....We than had Lamb and veg in a Claypot which was really well cooked. Finished With Crepes and Creme Brulee. We would say this was a successful visit to a Traditional Latvian restaurant and would reccommenndMore

Great experience, cozy place, food amazing and the person serving was just great at her job and friendly. Have I said that the food was just amazing?! Nice and balanced flavours in the plate... Big portions (we couldn't eat all.😳... you might want to share...or order one main instead of going for the whole course... )More

A little plug for this restaurant if you are in Riga anytime. Lovely Latvian food, great location and the friendliest staff. Terrific cold beetroot soup, and lamb soup as granny would have made it.

Delicious local cuisine in a lovely restaurant. Nice atmosphere inside (there is also outdoor seating), and friendly service. Our server was even kind enough to get out a box of toys for our little one to play with while we waited for drinks and the...food, and she was pleasant and efficient throughout. Good-sized portions, tasty food, reasonable prices for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Latvian fare in a nice setting, with great service.More

The food was absolutely excellent. We tried to eat just the Latvian specialties. Grey peas, black sausage, herring and chicken dumplings plus rye soup. All was excellent thank you

The restaurant is run by a family, some of the recipes are family ones and in general are real traditional Latvian. The service is second to none, extremely friendly and efficient.

Fabulous find. Two friends on a tour of the Baltic States we can honestly say this was the best restaurant we ate in. Very inviting m, great ambience, welcoming with lovely serving staff. The liver pate and Solyanka soup starters were delicious as was the...lamb hotpot and pork chop. We enjoyed it so much we came back for a second night. No starters but the lamb hotpot and carbonara. Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Thank you to the wonderful chef (owner?) Whomever eats here won’t be disappointed with their choice 😍More

We shared a potato cake and herring salad starter, which was very tasty. As mains we both had roast pork, which was absolutely excellent. Our server was delightful and the restaurant is small, but cosy. There are also tables outside. For dessert I had an...good creme brulee. Please note that there are 2 branches of this restaurant, 1 in Torna iela, the other in Adeju iela.More

We had an excellent town at this lovely restaurant in the Old Town in Riga. The blood sausage with lingonberries and pasta with vegetables were very tasty and the staff was efficient, friendly and helpful. Good Kvass to drink as well.
