Great wine bar with the very nice interior and very friendly owners. Earlier it was the restaurant with the number of various awards. After some break the owners decided to transform the restaurant into the wine bar. The bar has great wine menu. It's very cool that here you can taste very expensive wines served by glasses. Also very rare wines presented in the menu which produced in a very small amount and which is difficult to buy. But here you can taste it!
There is a snack menu and soon a couple of hot dishes could be included in the menu as well (the best one which earlier were presented in the restaurant menu).
The perfect place to enjoy perfect wine and delicious snacks and have a great evening!

The restaurant is in a central location of the city and offers a good choice of traditional and non-traditional dishes. The excellently cooked fish and the great desserts, together with the excellent reception made us feel very good. Highly recommended.

I'm a local who enjoys good food and based on the 3 appetizers, I advise you not to visit. We ordered a cold fish plate for 2 people, wagyu beef carpaccio and smoked meat carpaccio. Fish plates with no special flavors, 4 types of fish tartar (no flavor) 6 oysters (only oysters), some cold shrimps (no extra flavors) and 3 sauces - mayonnaise, mango sauce and some avocado cream that tastes like store-bought spread. Wagyu beef carpaccio is actually salad wrapped in waqyu beef and parmesan cheese on top. Smoked meat carpaccio is slices of dried meat, or in our country we call it prosciutto or bržola. In addition, each small piece of bread is billed separately. The food does not meet my expectations in any way, let alone the price (these 3 appetizers were €100). There are many restaurants in Ljubljana with similar food, which are really up to the standard and also worth their price. My rating is based on the food! The ambience is OK. Unfortunately, the waiter does not take criticism well or does not know how to respond to them.

Even though we had booked 2 weeks before since we were a group of 20 people, the service was poor, many dishes on the menu were not there (almost all), the portions were very small and very expensive.
The waitress even started crying because of the poor service, justifying that they had overbooked, but they didn't even give us a discount.

The food was incredible (really good) but the service was sadly not. We did not get our wine with the food but had to ask for it. When the water ran out, they never came with more ore even asked if we wanted more. When the wine was out they never came and asked if we wanted a refill or look at the menu again. The same with the food, they just took the empty plates and glasses without a word. We had planned to stay do dessert but since they never came and asked we lost interest. In short, we felt like we where in their way although there where not many people at the restaurant at the time. To bad because the food was good.

In a short sentence I can say a tourist trap. Nice looking restaurant with a lack of cooking knowledge. For a highend seafood restaurant, I would expect at least something more than a plate of shellfish and scampi just put on a plate. Everything was so lack of taste, that gave me understanding of why mayo (or what they call Aioli) was included on a plate. I guess nobody has ever been to Spain. I admit, it could have been worse, they could fry the shellfish... If you know something about seafood... stay away from this so called gastrobar... I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant would be closed till summertime or at least named differently. Friday night with 6 customers at 9 pm, I guess the word has already spread in the city... Wine was good though.

We had the most incredible meal at Jadro to celebrate my birthday whilst in Slovenia.
My mum had contacted them via Instagram explaining that it was my birthday, and they went above and beyond to mark the occasion arranging balloons, a sparkler in my dessert and a lovely hand written message on a postcard. Neither of us ever expected them to go to so much effort!
Beyond this, the food itself was absolutely wonderful. We would highly recommend the seafood and polenta starter and the sea bass dishes. The chocolate fondant dessert is also a winner!
The service was incredible; such a friendly and efficient team. We were looked after so well whilst dining there.
Thank you so much to Lena and the team at Jadro! If we are ever in Ljubljana again we will be sure to visit.

Great lowkey seafood meal with awesome service. We happened upon this restaurant and were able to snag seats at the bar. Our waitress helped us navigate the Slovenian wines offered and the wine was excellent. For our meals we had the seafood pasta and the grilled octopus. Both were lovely. The octopus came with wonderfully seasoned vegetables and a hearty serving of mashed potatoes. All in all, it was a great experience at a reasonable price for quality seafood and wine.

I ate at Jadro twice in October, both times with groups. It was very enjoyable with attentive service and great food, We had the sea bass baked in salt - really theatrical and special! The warm seafood appetizer (with the chef's grandma's special sauce) was fantastic. Our side dishes rounded out the menu nicely - salads, potatoes with spinach, and grilled vegetables were all good. They have a very nice wine list too. If you love seafood, then definitely put Jadro on your list when you visit Ljubljana.

Enjoyed our meal at Jadro. The menu is relatively small and seafood dominated. Be aware that the steaks and some fish are sold by the kilo as a minimum, which took us a little by surprise and as we wanted different things, certainly cut down our menu choices. I had the octopus, which was delicious and well cooked.
We asked for some bread to accompany the prawns we ordered as a starter and unfortunately it didn't arrive. By the time we could get someones attention, the prawns were gone! It still appeared, however on the bill - but no massive deal. Service was a little erratic, but the staff were pleasant and welcoming.

Huge thanks to Elena for an amazing time at her restaurant! We had a bottle of wine, the soup, a seafood platter for two (so delicious!), and a chocolate dessert that was simply heavenly. The food was absolutely incredible so fresh and full of flavor and the cozy atmosphere made it even better. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a lovely experience. We had the most outstanding experience at Jadro from the minute we walked in the door. The staff were so friendly and accommodating - those seating us (finding a table for 6 without reservations on a very busy night), the server, and even the woman who brought us our bill. Maria, our server and part owner, was the most helpful server I’ve ever experienced. She explained everything thoroughly, answered all of our many questions with patience and good humor. She gave us recommendations which turned out perfect for our group. We shared (family style), sea bass and turbot with roasted vegetables that were absolutely delectable. We were even invited to watch her husband chef prepare and debone the fish for us. The blueberry cordial at the end of the meal was an unexpected pleasure. We are so delighted we found this restaurant and highly, highly recommend.

Perfect restaurant for a family evening. Soft atmosphere, perfect music and pleasant location. The food does not have a great variety but is of excellent quality but the real specialty is the exquisiteness of the staff, truly of an out of the ordinary kindness. I will definitely stay here again if I pass through Ljubljana

We chose Jadro on the strength of reviews, and were not disappointed! A fabulous meal, with tuna steak on truffle polenta a particular highlight, and a great choice of wines by the glass or bottle, was immensely enjoyable. Just as good was the service, which was friendly and efficient. Food arrived to the table swiftly and we enjoyed the wine (I can’t remember the brand but it was made with Rebulla grapes - new to us but really delicious). We were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived, as we all felt it could have been much higher given the quality of the meal, the ambience of the restaurant, and the good service.
