I went in Arruda with my boyfriend last march and we had a lunch in this beautiful restaurant!! We found a special welcome, friendliness and great food.

I have to say that I didn't like at all a couple of years ago when I came here first time... that said I learn you need to understand this spot's concept... on the upside you have an excellent choice if bottled beers, the area around being great for kids in all terms inclusively safety, and the staff is absolutely amazing... On the downside you have the small choice of dishes however that's part of concept and whatever there is on that day is for sure very good... Good for dog owners as well when eating outside!!!

Nice place but food just ok

The idea is good. The decorations are fine. They do not call themselves as a restaurant. But we were there for a dinner and the food was just ok. The staff intends to be helpful but do not need to exaggerate!

Dear David Thank you so much for your comment, we call ourselves "mercearia" that means old grocery store = where our grandmothers used to buy butter,milk, flour,corn,meat,etc, all fresh products and of course all from the day..so that is the reason why we only work with 3 meals per day (1 of meat,1 of fish and 1 vegetarian) because we work with fresh products that changes every day...to be honest we have been doing for 4 years, almost 5, diferent meals every day. About our staff..well that is one of our "problems" if you want to call it like that...we love to receive people at our Mercearia, we love that they feel like if they were at home..it is part of us..of our culture..so I´m sorry if we were too helpful. Best lunchtime Place at Arruda

In business trip, had 1,5hour to lunch in Arruda before a meeting. Its a perfect place to have lunch! In the middle of Arruda library Garden its a nice quiet place. At lunch only three plates available (meat, fish, veg) but all extremely good. Friendly atmosphere, cat included. If in Arruda will return for sure.

A nice little food shop

If you like a simple home feel meal, very tasty, with lot of imagination, you must try this restaurant - be careful they say it's not a restaurant, but an ancient grocery store. Very nice, very quiet. A pleasant place to go with the family.

After a visit to Lisbon we decided to have lunch in Arruda dos Vinhos, the lunch exceeded our expectations since the sympathy of everyone, the involvement of the site, located inside a garden, to the served food, the doses are generous invite to share, the fried chocs and the Alentejo cheese we chose at the entrance were excellent, the calf lombinhos very good, we stay fregues sure.

Sunday lunch at Mercearia do Prato!

Having made an appointment the night before, the family lunch worked perfectly. 5-star reception, friendliness and attention of the staff, cozy room, very good starters (I recommend the fried cuttlefish, which is different) and then Polvo and Naco à Chef. A very well spent moment in a very pleasant surrounding space, I recommend it.

We made a reservation and it worked out great. Pleasant atmosphere, friendliness and quick service. Tasty food and good quantity. We haven't repeated it yet because we couldn't get a reservation for the desired dates.
