We enjoyed dinner on the verandah looking towards the sea. Nice heater overhead. The battered oysters with wasabi aoili were divine and melt in the mouth. Also enjoyed a delicious beefcheek and fish and chips. Friendly helpful service and a characterful atmosphere. Worth a visit.

We had the Matuku Bay oysters, taramasalata and a set menu: crispy lamb and Hauraki gold beer battered fish. We loved everything except the battered fish. Too much batter. The triple cooked chips that came with the fish were really yum.

It's in Oneroa - the main town area closest to the ferry (Matiatia - not the car ferry at Kennedy Point). You can walk into town in 15-20min or there are taxis and buses at the ferry and in town you can grab.
