Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great venue and views , so recommended to visiting family . Menu is small, and has been the same for a long time. One of the family had a steak and green salad ( which was exactly that, green leaves) which came to $60... needless...to say they won't be returning g to Oyster Inn.More

Fabulous lunch on the balcony, starting with local oysters, then shared dishes of mac n cheese, a simple green salad, grilled octopus and snapper. Every dish was fresh and delicious! Warm and welcoming service, very attentive. Drinks included a lovely local Rose, beers and espresso...Martini. A magic spot in a gorgeous settingMore

We ducked in here to get out of the rain while looking for a spot for lunch. The fish and chips were delicious. The lamb was okay. The view from the deck was LOVELY.

We enjoyed delicious food at The Oyster Inn. Oysters, fish, wine and dessert were all very good. Our service was also good - questions readily answered, recommendations appreciated, etc. The restaurant itself is a bit noisy. But overall we had a good experience and would...recommend The Oyster Inn.More

About the only place it seems to have a beer on waiheke after 2.30pm. No pubs or taverns it seems. I rate the view from the balcony and staff were pleasant $10 for Asahi, Corona beer was average.

Delicious lunch at the Oyster Inn. We walked to the restaurant from the ferry terminal so we got our exercise before lunch. The special was snapper and was prepared with class. The fish and chips were very fresh tasting.

Lovely setting; beautiful wait staff- sweet, accommodating, and attentive. The food however needs attention. Shoestring fries overcooked and inedible. Returned to kitchen. Also served with tomato sauce- not ketchup. Would turn off American diners. Cauliflower steak was delicious and generous. The snapper was swimming in...a mysterious thick sauce that was so unnecessary; I moved it to a simple plate. The asparagus also overdressed/ smothered with Parmesan and fennel crumbs-so unnecessary. Smothering food takes away from the food experience and seems disrespectful . Less is more.More

Our dinner at Oyster Inn was delicious! Food was amazing, perfect to share a few dishes between friends, and their cocktails are amazing too! Their service is spotless. Betu, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Great place for a girls night out, even better...getting their locals deals on a Wednesday night. Highly recommend!More

My partner and I visited for a lunch whilst visiting Waiheke Island for my 40th birthday. The dressed half-dozen oysters were delicious, as were the octopus, chicken karaage and triple cooked fries we ordered! The staff were friendly and super accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

I sent this feedback to the Oyster Inn after my stay last weekend but received no response to it or my follow up email, which confirms my feeling the eye is well and truly off the accommodation ball at the Oyster Inn. My friend and...I had been really looking forward to our lovely luxury weekend at the Oyster Inn. At the price point our expectations were high, but we have left bitterly disappointed. First the reason I am e mailing rather than speaking to anyone on site is that there did not seem to anyone responsible for the accommodation. Certainly no one identified themselves in that role. The restaurant waitstaff were pleasant and helpful as far as food was concerned but we weren't made to feel like valued guests by anyone. I had room 1 and did not sleep at all on the first night due to what I am guessing is the restaurant's chiller running all night. Extraordinary that guests are warned about occasional fire sirens but not night long industrial noise. I didn't find the airplugs until the next day. I was able to sleep better the second night but note the bed was heavily used and worn, so not comfortable. My friend says his was the same. Both rooms were pleasant but shabby with broken window latches, mold (black and pink) and rotten wood in both bathrooms and missing floor tiles in room 2. The bathroom cupboard door in room 1 is off the hinge and just resting closed. Overall the atmosphere was one of benign neglect. One last point, possibly beyond the control of the Inn, is the smell of sewerage from downstairs. It was overwhelming, especially in the evening, so we could not leave windows open and the balcony area was very unpleasant to use. We really were expecting so much more but we've actually left the island early because we are feeling so let down.More

The food here was Awesome... Fresh oysters, the civeche was delicious, lamb shank, kawhai mouse but the choux balls YUMBO sounded sweet but wasn't so gorgeous. We had excellent service from Britania from Ushia.... Great to chat and so friendly. We will be back... Not sure if there is a specific kids menu but there are plenty os starters you can choose from rather than a main for smaller appetites. Enjoy!

Either. ask for outside table if you go for lunch as you can sit on balcony with view. Dinner time is maybe a little noisier but anytime is fun time
