Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our evening at The Courtyard was a great experience. The food was delicious and well presented, very helpful and friendly staff, with an atmosphere that encapsulated Waiheke Island - causal, relaxed, comfortable nwithnitself - more for the locals than tourists perhaps. Well worth making an...effort to find.More

Exceptional service from the minute I phoned to make a booking and throughout our meal. Staff very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Our first time there but we’ll definitely be back.

Appalling service, chaotic organisation, dirty cutlery, management with ‘attitude’. Over crowded, over-booked and underwhelming.

This hidden gem is where all the real gourmands of the island gravitate... Ask any real foodie here where they would like to meet and eat... and this will be top of the list. Brent Mills has been creating the most fabulous dishes here for...longer than he would have liked. Although he may be ready for another gastronomic adventure... us selfish, food-loving punters hope he will stay around for many more years to come. This time, our pre-cinema pop-in consisted of creamy yoghurt hummus with crunchy focaccia, amazing, flavour-packed pork belly with gnocchi in a sensational ragu, crispy confit duck on a bed of white beans, a roasted cauliflower side and an incredible creme brûlée cheesecake... All with liberal quantities of fruity Italian Fiano Salento and show-stopping Greek Agrorgitko wines... We only just managed to stay awake during the movie! We'll be back soon for more... Truly excellent!!!More

On our first night out in Waiheke, how lucky we felt to find this restaurant. It has a relaxed ambience. Nice staff, friendly and know what they're doing. We had crumbed chicken, snapper & prawn pasta, scallops. Gorgeous food. Also a great little wine list....We chose by the glass and tried different Italian reds. I will go again. Highly recommend it.More

After 2 previous nights of disappointing food at other places, we finally found The Courtyard. This is the kind of delicious and thoughtful food we had been wanting to eat on Waiheke! Great selection of dishes all beautifully presented, with knowledgeable and attentive wait staff....I’d go back in a heartbeat 😊More

Good food & friendly staff but the interior of the restaurant was open to the outside which allowed tobacco smoke to come in. This completely spoiled the experience for us.

This is a wonderful recent addition to the Oneroa restaurant scene. Tucked away under the busy hustle of the Main Street this hideaway is the perfect choice for small groups, quiet dates and casual dining. Incredible menu with real creativity - we had the snapper...pasta with prawns which was superb. Staff were really friendly and helpful and super willing to put things right (when one meal was forgotten they rectified it fast with a smile). Amazing wine list and ambience. Will be back !More

Absolutely love coming here! The Courtyard has a chill, friendly atmosphere and is where all the locals eat. I always have the hardest time picking from the menu as the specials are always so interesting and delicious-sounding but are up against some pretty stiff competition...from the classic dishes available. Staff are very laid-back and warm, the place is completely unpretentious even though the food is good enough for it not to be! Definitely don't miss it if you make the trip over, bring a bunch of friends so you can get lots of plates to share!More

We were a group of 8 friends looking for a late lunch and we were welcomed here, with great Prosecco, food and service. I ordered the poached chicken sandwich. It was huge and delicious! Would come back again.

We went here for dinner after a recommendation from a local and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, we went on a Tuesday night and the place was so busy we almost didn’t get a table. The baked cauliflower with dukkah is one of the most...amazing things I’ve ever eaten. Great for casual diningMore

Great place that makes you feel like you are actually in a cool beach town, not a tourist hub. The food was good, but the vibe was better.

We've not been to Brent Mills great place underneath the piazza and steps in the middle of Oneroa for 2 years... and it is still has fabulous as ever. Ok... there is no view and we would love it he was to take over the...very-average Vino Vino above and then you would have a wonderful view to match the outstanding tucker... but that's obviously not our call. We chose a number of plates to share... Pan-roasted clams, grilled scallops, zucchini & beets, cheesy potato gratin, fried cauliflower... all utterly, utterly delicious... and we pushed the boat out to wash this down with the Man O' War's stunning Valhalla Chardonnay. The lovely, smiley and efficient staff...especially the gorgeous Shannon from Sheffield looked after us with endless patience and good humour... Pure delight... HOWEVER... We were distressed to see this place featured in the For Sale ads of the local rag... We hope this only means that Brent & Co are moving to Vino Vino or another venue that matches their extra-special offering????More

Due to unexpected circumstances we made a late booking for a large group (~20). The staff were awesome and fitted us into the small restaurant as best they could. It was no problem separating the bill as we wanted to pay in small groups. The...only downside to this great restaurant is there is no specific children's menu and they were unable to do half portions of most of the adult meals. So it is probably best to visit this venue without your children, but in saying that they made our children very welcome!More
