Fairly nice spot off the Main Street with water views. One meal had to be GF but came out & it wasn’t so was sent back. Pasta (risoni) was replaced with rice which was fine but some of the accompaniments were obviously just moved from...one plate to the next as they still had pasta (risoni) stuck to them. Luckily we’re not anaphylactic. Overall, ok experience but wouldn’t return in a hurry.More
Popped into Vino Vino for some lunch with a few friends views of the coast line sensational our waitress was Bella she was very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for her, good wine list. prices very reasonable for food and drinks .We had...an array of dishes ribs to fish and chips and vegetarian everyone enjoyed there meals but the standout dish would of had to be the sticky date pudding best I have ever had so light and fluffy.More
Absolutely amazing service the waitstaff were so polite from the phone call to book all the way to desert, such an amazing atmosphere here we really enjoyed it. The food speaks for itself it’s Fantastic very fresh and decent portions my favourite is the pasta,...drinks are great couldn’t fault it one bit. Made us feel so welcome and food didn’t take long to come out either, they were always checking up on us making sure we were topped up and had everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves we will deffs be returning!!More
Not one to usually leave a review I feel completely compelled to on this occasion;
Probably the worst meal I've had in recent memory, the chicken was drowned in a gravy that tasted very much like an OXO cube/School cafeteria lunch vibe, with frozen veg...and an overall anaemic look about it, the chicken fettuccine was neon orange with very bland flavours and one tiny bit of chicken unceremoniously plonked on top, the burger bun was definitely showing signs of 1 to 2 day old bread, the kids ordered a spaghetti with red sauce however the waitress presented them with what I only assume was the excess from the neon fettuccine we ordered and when I asked where the red sauce pasta was she mumbled something about sometimes they chop and change the kids menu;
Service was confusing and sporadic, food was so bad and so expensive, when we all came home we read the bad reviews left by previous victims and found solace and solidarity with those gone before us. If only we had thought to do this before we booked....More
Exceptional service, food, drinks and spotless premises. Nothing was too much trouble for Vesna and the rest of the Vino Vino team. I was fortunate to celebrate my 60th birthday luncheon at the restaurant on Easter Monday. Being a visitor to Waiheke Island I was...unsure of what the restaurant could offer but I can sincerely say it was one of the best decisions I made. From the first panicked telephone call (after 10pm), Vesna was patient, helpful and asked all the right questions to ensure that my luncheon would be enjoyable by all. - and it certainly was. The premises were decorated, the view was fantastic, the food was superb and the service was faultless. Vesna even arranged wonderful weather so that we would enjoy dancing on the deck. My family, friends and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a venue with a great atmosphere, great food, great service and great views.More
Average service, average food. Hubby had scallops from hell- very strange plate of food, didn’t make sense resulting in a strange flavour combination. I had steak sandwich- the steak was over cooked and over salted.
We have visited Vino Vino a number of times over the last 20 years and it’s always been great. Last night was probably one of our best. A combination of fantastic food, a talented musician providing entertainment and a great group of friends, who’d enjoyed...a few wines at the jazz festival throughout the day.
The food and service were superb. We’ve had the scallops a couple of times and they are one of our favourite all-time meals, we may even go back for them again on this visit. The lamb rack was huge - beautiful and tender.
The location is just brilliant, looking out over the gorgeous bay, which was full to the brim with yachts enjoying the Easter weekend away. If you’re visiting Waiheke, you must visit Vino Vino at least once!!!!More
Four of us went here for dinner on the Saturday just before Auckland went into Level 3 lockdown.
During the afternoon I had googled various restaurants and the menus were less than inspiring for our taste so when I came across this restaurant, 2 minutes...walk up the road with their extensive menu, I just knew we were onto a winner.
The evening we were there it was very windy and a bit chilly on the deck but the staff kindly put down the screens and gave us blankets to use so we were very comfortable.
The Waiheke oysters for entree were great and 3 of us had the eye fillet (surf and turf) and we agreed it was the best steak we'd had for a long time.
Hubby's seafood chowder was nice and the spring rolls were OK without being spectacular.
The dessert of apple crumble and sticky caramel pudding were also very good.
The wine list was totally adequate and the total cost was within an acceptable range, and from what I could gather seemed a lot more cost-effective than others on the island that I'd found.
The waitress (Luana) was new (she said it was her first night and she was on trial) was very sweet, helpful and willing and if she didn't know something she was quick to go away and find out. We told the boss lady on the way out that she was a keeper! I hope she took our advice.
Overall a great evening and would definitely recommend this place for a casual dining experience with delicious food and friendly and helpful staff.More
