Amazing Chinese Food

I highly rate this restaurant. It was my favourite out of the all the places I ate at on Patina Maldives. We started off with a selection of Home Made Dim Sum. Each of the dumplings we chose had a delicate skin with the most luxurious of fillings. The Lobster Dumpljng had lobster and foie gras. Wild Mushroom Dumpling contained king oyster and shimeji mushrooms with carrots and cabbage. Truffle Dumpling enveloped potato flakes, water chestnut, butter truffle paste, and edamame. I loved them all and would suggest you start with these as they will whet your appetite. We also ordered Wok-Fried Scallops In X.O Sauce, Kung Pao Chicken, Braised Eggplant With Tofu (standout dish), Stir-Fried Bok Choy & Garlic, Stir-Fried Broccolini & Garlic, Lobster Noodles (another great dish), Wok-Fried Beef & Rice Noodles, and Steamed Rice. All the dishes are best for sharing as with most Chinese meals, and you’ll get to try everything which I must say is delicious! Dessert was presented in such a beautiful way. I had the Black Sesame. Black sesame is presented three ways. There is mousse, sponge, and ice cream. Yuzu cream accompanied this. Another wonderful dish which I recommend. Make sure to try this fantastic restaurant.

Warning to all Ritz guests dining with children at Patina

I thought this review would be critical for any outside guests dining here because your resort is the ONLY resort that charges MORE for a child's meal vs. an adult's. Our family dined at Wok Society this month while staying at the Ritz. Firstly, if you're a guest at Patina, children's meals are covered. When we were given a children's menu, it had no prices on it. In short, Patina charges more for a children's menu item vs adult meal. $35 for two pieces of fish and chips + $35 for desert (two mini skewers of marshmallows) $70/child. Kung pao chicken was $34 and shiro cake we got (adult meal) was ($34+12). If you're in the Maldives, yes you should be aware of excessive prices. But this isn't about that. Never was I expected to pay MORE for a child's meal and was given any warning about this - nor an understanding of why they do this. I checked with the restaurant to make sure this was correct on their part. I also left two emails asking for an explanation on how any of this makes sense to their team - and never asked for an adjustment to the meal. However, your team is incapable of giving me any response regarding this feedback - and this service quality at the restaurant and your management make it hard to believe that this resort is 5 star quality. This experience totally, completely, took away from the dining experience as a whole and decided not to dine at Patina the rest of our stay.
