What a lovely establishment! We visited on our final evening in Las Terrenas after many in our group were tired of resort food. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful - open-air, tropical ambiance, moody/fun lighting. All around good vibes. We enjoyed a wide variety of food and drinks including whole, stuffed lobster, tacos, salads, pastas, the best frozen margarita I've ever had and strong craft cocktails. We really enjoyed the beachfront location which was perfect for an after-dinner stroll. Beautiful villas and homes located along the stretch of beach was a nice treat. Prices, quality and service were great. Our waiter was excellent as well, I wish I had remembered his name. He was very patient with us since we speak very little Spanish and took his time with us. We appreciated his care and attention to detail. Overall a great visit and we look forward to returning. Will consider staying at the actual hotel next time for a smaller, more intimate feel than our nearby resort. I recommend for friends, family groups, and even date nights for couples. The settings are truly beautiful and will appeal to a variety of persons.

A must if you are in Las Terrenas. All the Mosquito's are great!

We visited all three Mosquito's while staying in Las Terrenas. The staff is excellent, the drinks are always done well. We were there for just over a month and enjoyed getting to know a lot of the staff as they are very kind. We spent most of our days at the Mosquito in Playa Bonita as they have surfboards, we spent the night in one of their hotel rooms and our kids ran around playing with other kids from all over the world. Some days they had live music, other days a DJ and most days just great music playing. We can't wait to get back!

Amazing food and excelent surf school. I did not stay at the hotel but everything seemed clean, the waves here are very strong at the sea so are perfect to surf.

First visit excellent, second not so much

We had dinner at Playa Bonita location twice during our vacation. The first time was excellent experience. Drinks and food was delicious although centres of empanadas were still cold when they arrived. But flavours were good and not worth complaining. Our server Alejandro was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned a couple nights later. The wheels fell off the bus the second time. We ordered 2 pizzas, one salad and one risotto. Our pizzas came out first and we waited for the rest but finally had to eat without my daughter having her dinner or my salad. Pizzas were completely eaten. I finally flagged down manager and he checked. Told us it would be a couple of minutes that turned into another 10. I expected that the risotto would be taken off my bill but it was not the case. I had to argue with the manager and finally they took the risotto off my bill although they were very rude about it. He told me that we should not expect to eat together because the pizza is cooked faster than the risotto and salad. Maybe the waiter should tell that to the customer when they order. He said that we ate it so should pay. Maybe I’m wrong but this is not quality customer service. It’s a popular bar/restaurant on Playa Bonita but second visit was not as good as the first.

Cool spot, but check your bill

This is a great place to hang out but we were charged twice for an entree. We pointed it out to the waitress who brought back a new bill that double-charged us for a drink. After we pointed out the second mistake, they finally straightened out the bill but I was left wondering if this is a common occurrence. Nonetheless, we will definitely return because the food and the ambience are outstanding.

If you want a place close with good music to dance, drinks and a comfortable ambient you should visit the mosquito bar if you feel humgry they have options to eat sometimes live music and art night. Best ambient very friendly people.

Disappointingly slow service despite there only being a few customers. Nice interior but pricey, average, slow to appear cocktails make it an option not to be repeated. Expected more.

Dogs allowed! Experience a late night snack at Mosquito Bar/Bite

Finding food at one of the sealine bistrós or small restaurants at the fishermen's zone "Los Pescadores" at Las Terrenas after 11 pm is almost impossible. After 4 stops and the "cerrado" smacked at our faces with a herd of 7 "more than hungry" young adults, we came across El Mosquito Bar/ Disco/Bite. The place had a few other late "hungry caterpillars". A little noisy for me, cause the restaurant area is right across the disco and they kind of share the music. Everyone was ready to eat whatever they had. The menu was basic, sandwiches, burgers and hotdogs with crispy french fries...and cold beer...coca cola and water. The service was Ok and the price was right!! My only issue was with a couple of stray dogs that hang out there watching you to get some crumbs or some leftover from the tasty burgers. I love dogs, but am not comfortable having these stray ones so close to us. At first, I was bugged by it, but the owner of the place welcomed them as, regular customers, so I figured they were not a threat. Who knows, maybe you can bring your dog along!
