Went to this place twice while on holiday for a week. Liked that it has outdoor seating that is somewhat sheltered. Reasonable selection of sweet and savoury items in a large display counter fridge. The breakfast was pretty good, in this age of gourmet this and organic that. The bacon was cooked to perfection, and I rarely eat it, so was really surprised. The scrambled eggs were over-cooked but that's just me. They were still good enough to eat. So I did enjoy it. The price is on average with what you will pay anywhere else, these days. Coffee was enjoyable too. So all in all was satisfied. The service was, brusque, but I get it, tourists etc, and early starts in hospitality don't often leave room for a cheery disposition for all. From what I observed, the regulars were given welcoming attitudes. Would recommend it.

For years my husband & I enjoy a morning coffee and snack at Freddy’s.
The owners and staff are super friendly, so it is with a sad face that we ordered our last sit-down coffee with the Freddy’s gang this morning.
We will continue to support them with a daily takeaway ... we couldn’t possibly go anywhere else ... this is the BEST in-house roasted coffee in town!
Oh ... and not to forget their HUGE selection of mouthwatering homemade cakes, slices and treats plus the perfect menu for breakfast & lunch.
We will turn our regular eat-in experience into a ‘picnic in the park’ for a while.

We were looking for a coffee place walked this place looked around it was busy and variety of snacks and sandwiches we're on display. The staff attended with a smile and assisted us and also gave us some great info about the sourounding. Service and food was great!!! Thank you once agsin.

We had a nice lunch here. It was quite busy mid-week but the service was still friendly, helpful and quick.
There was a good range of gluten free options and the staff explained them to my wife. She ordered the steak sandwich gluten free but the chips were beer battered so I ate them. The steak sandwich was large and filling, fresh and tasty. I had a beef lasagna and salad and it was very good too, I especially liked the salad which had plenty of butter lettuce and carrot, along with cherry tomatoes, cucumber and dressing.
Even though we don’t drink coffee, I can still recommend Freddy’s.

We stopped here for lunch on the way home from the beach. The place is not fancy but the food is made on the premises and was fabulous. The menu covered all the usual things like burgers, sandwiches and smoothies, while the cabinet was full of home made quiches, pies and baked items. I had a Mexican tortilla and a coconut and lime slice - both excellent. My wife loved her quiche too. The owners and staff were lovely and friendly, and rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Food and coffee were very mediocre. You're basically sitting on a carpark. They dont serve water unless you pay for it...we have never come across this before. So customer service is not good, they seem to care more about making money than keeping their customers happy. Plenty of other great cafes around, give this one a miss. Try The Car across the road or Entity.

The prices were top end for breakfast, so the overall experience expectation was top end. Sadly it all went wrong when the barista dropped my hot coffee spilling it on my phone and on my leg and foot. The phone was immediately rescued. The table was cleaned while we waited. The manager/owner (not sure which) was at the counter laughing. At no point did the staff ask if the hot coffee had burnt me. Nor was I offered a cloth to to wipe the coffee off my body. My dog got such a friend from the noise of the cup hitting the table/my phone that he pulled out of his collar. Thank God he stayed close by. When the barista had finished cleaning our table we were "allowed" to sit down again. Oh - and the cafe was pretty much empty aside from us. And then I waited for my replacement coffee, bu which stage my husband had finished his coffee. I noticed my phone camera protection cover was broken and that there was still coffee caught between my phone case and my phone. I asked if they could clean/dry the case and if there was a place locally where I could buy a replacement camera cover. What happened after that was nothing short of outrageous. I was verbally abused. Gaslighting at its finest. When my husband and I stood up to leave the barista followed me outside of the cafe still stating his case and saying, in a loud voice, that I had accused him of breaking my phone. I walked away with him still carrying on. As I walked away an elderly lady stepped in and asked the barista to calm down. I have no idea what the outcome of that was. Not once did I ask for money. When the barista asked about the cost of the camera protector I said between $20-$30. He offered to pay once I had paid for it and sent him an invoice. I wrote a much shorter review on their page and got a reply from the owner saying I was just trying to get money out of them. How is that for great customer service. We were due to stay in Coolum for the weekend. We were so upset by the event, we left Coolum that day and returned home.

We are sorry you didnt enjoy your experience at our cafe but see that you are still enjoying what Coolum Beach offers.
I'll keep it short ,
My barista did not VERBAL ABUSE you, there was a discussion, he cleaned everything up, got you another coffee etc as is expected of us and apologised, which you responded, thats okay. thanks
As for the suggestion that Manager laughed at situation is TOTALLY UNTRUE, as you would be aware, because she came over with smile on face and said, your puppy went for a drink but instead put his paws in, to which you responded, he likes getting his paws wet and our conversation with you and partner was amicable.
Unfortunately you accused Barista of breaking phone which is incorrect, your partner acknowledged that you are always breaking that particular plastic part.
I think this matter should be put to rest as you have had your say on several social media sites, what more can we do than what we have done and said, apologised and said we are sorry.

Requested a glass of water. Refused due to CoViD as water in a glass is not CoViD safe. I suggested it was the same as being served a coffee but was informed I had to buy water!
Stupid cheap way to make money.

Hey heartbeatspecialist, after reading your review we wish to let you know the reasoning behind all this COVID thing.
We have been visited by Qld health and are abiding by their rules and because we do not have a contactless water station we are therefore unable to provide water, so sourced a cheap option of water , every cafe seems to have different standards and yes, even though we hand out coffee cups etc, we understand all that but we didnt put the the rules in place, likewise with this new sign in with the APP, we are getting some flack from customers, but please realise we understand but our hands are tied and if we dont abide by the rules that are put in place we get fined quite heavily.... trust you appreciate where we coming from.

Great quick service was delivered to us at the friend Cafe Freddy Fuddpukka's. Food was excellent, and good size. Coffee was hot and most importantly really friendly happy staff.. thank you

We stopped in for a quick lunch after a long bush walk. Service was friendly, coffee was very good and our BLT’s were the best we’d ever had! We’ve had their house made sausage rolls in the past and they’re excellent too. Compared with other local cafes their prices are very reasonable too.

Had a bit of rain first thing, so stopped off here for brunch just after 10am. Real busy spot, had a great club sandwich, which came with fries, and a strawberry thickshake. Good value for money, very tasty, and kept me going to dinner that evening. Highly recommended

Went to Freddy's to have a coffee and a sparkling water whilst I waited for the missus.
Coffee is still good and watched a few of the others hoe into their brunch.
Looked good and staff were friendly and prompt.
Worth a go here.

Really friendly staff, and generous portions for food. Brekky bruschetta was amazing. Our son really loved the bacon here too! Are it all, and still wanted more.
Really good coffee too, best I've had in Coolum.
Dog-friendly as well.

Stayed in Coolum total of 8 days over 2 visits in last 2 weeks and were lucky to find this straight away. It is an honest, down to earth place with a local and probably on the older side clientele. We have enjoyed (or more likely, become addicted to!) the date & apple slice, and now find out they make their own treats! The cabinet is packed with sweet and savoury goodies. Kudos, it is all beautiful and the coffee is good too. No achingly moody, trendy place this…. Just good hearted hospitality!

Have passed this cafe many times so thought we should give it a go. Situated just off Birtwill Street and always busy.
Despite being full service was cheerful and efficient. Coffee was good and the array of cakes etc.enticing.
