It was a lovely evening and we wanted somewhere where we could sit outside in a courtyqrd without crowds and enjoy good fresh good. I had seasonal veges with chicken. It was delicious (courgettes, mushrooms, carrots, pumpkin, beans all beautifully cooked and presented). And partner had greek salad with beef brisket. Fantastic value and a really really nice meal. service was a bit slow with the waitress saying she would come and take our order - and obviously forgot, but it was a lovely evening and we just went inside and ordered at counter.

I am now in love with deep-fried smashed-potatoes, Oh. My. Goodness. They are divine. Plus the steak, salad and Central Otago Pinot Noir are pretty sensational as well. A faultless meal.
The only odd thing - the high stools are high, but the tables are even higher, so you are eating off a plate which is at an oddly extreme height. Either trim down the table legs or extend the height of the stools.

We dined here last night and had the Greek salad and the half chicken with potatoes dishes. The food is simple but really delicious and well presented. The chicken portion is big so for a smaller eater the quarter chicken would be fine. The venue is small and friendly and it’s a real pleasure to eat there. Overall a great place to dine.

Arrived for our booking
Was seated at a table and ordered a drink
After a time considering the menu, I called over the waitress to ask what the Slow Cut of the Day was was to be informed "it has run out". Seriously? At 6.45pm for a restaurant with a speciality of slow cuts to have run out??
That said, I suppose there could have been some valid reason, apart from terrible planning, that this can happen. However, it is not ok to seat guests with menus and leave them to choose without informing them that you have run out of probably the most important item on your menu!

Four diners ordering three different meals. Some just OK but one in particular was below par. The pork ribs ordered with sticky chinese sauce were completely dry, I believe the sauce was completely missing. The other meals that were OK would not entice me to return.

Did they forget our order?
It's not often I throw my toys out of the pram in a restaurant; I'm generally very patient.
However, when you have been waiting over an hour and then the table next to you (who arrived 10 minutes ago) gets their food delivered in its entirety, I'm afraid this tired traveller lost it!
What didn't help was the explanation that 'your order took longer to cook'.
It was a burger (one was delivered to the next door table, so it wasn't that), and a spitroast chicken with potatoes and a salad. So with the potatoes and salad part of standard meals, let's assume it was the chicken. Well, my local Pak'n'save has spitroast chicken sitting there waiting to be taken home at a moment's notice.
If it WAS that, then maybe we should have been warned of how long it would take. I just wanted to go home. So we did!
So this tired and hungry traveller is now waiting for the breakfast cafes to open. Yes, maybe I did cut my nose off to spite my face, but at that point in the evening I was just too tired to care.

We had visited Arrowtown in the morning and fell in love with the place so decided to come back again in the evening for dinner. We were staying in Queenstown but it’s only 20 mins drive. Although not open when we were there in the morning this bar/restaurant appealed to us as we walked past so pleased to have got a table when we returned as it was very busy.
It has a range of burgers, salads and smoked meats available and after changing our minds several times we went for the salad - me with Katsu pork and my wife chicken. They also have a great drinks list and had an excellent Hazy IPA from the brewery next door.
The salads were excellent with an unusual but tasty range of ingredients - nice to have something healthy again after all the burgers and pies we’ve eaten in Queenstown!
Our waitress was really friendly and helpful.

After a week of dining in New Zealand on burger and chips, steak and chips and pie and chips this was a welcome change. I had quarter chicken with Greek salad. Very tasty. Staff all friendly food served quickly

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were placed at the bar as the place was full. The food came out quickly. Good beer on tap. Chicken roast potatoes and salad was great value for money...$22. Highly recommend.

Felt really lucky to get a table for 4 at this restaurant on a busy Friday nice. Food & beverages were all impeccable & it was obvious that a professional kitchen was the backbone of this large establishment ( incl. outdoor seating). The crowning glory however was the polite & professional staff, especially the maître d’ who delivered an exceptional experience. Well done all, we know it’s tough at the moment with scarce staff & rising costs but this visit held true to the Kiwi hospitality we know & love

We didn't have a booking so stayed sitting outside but staff accommodated us and moved is inside as soon as they're was room. The food is to die for - so flavoursome and delicious. Service was a little slow but probably more noticeable because we were starving. We would def eat here again.

First I want to thank the workers the nicest people ever met.
I have been in the past going there every week with my wife until they changed the
menu. Being a vegetarian really enjoyed their colorful burger w/ Haloumi cheese
with crispy rice patty. WOW so the management asked me to try the other vegetarian burger no where near the quality and the taste.
Also, on the old menu had a real cheese cake (w/ different fruit) and they changed it to chocolate cheese cake (if you call that) . This shouldn't be called cheese cake at all very little cream cheese mostly powder chocolate or what ever packed under a thin layer of cheese. Well 2 of my favorite items are gone the third I love is the cauliflower and spinach fritters and that is the only item left for me to enjoy. So guess what my weekly visit is over till they bring back the old menu. I will miss the great staff and the laughs we had.

From the minute we walked in the service was friendly and welcoming. We were seated next to the fireplace. The bar had a busy Saturday night vibe. We ordered the small ribs order, for starters, to share. Tasty. Sir ordered the rump steak main, medium rare with smashed potatoes and salad for an amazing $23; madame ordered the quarter chicken, roast potatoes and salad du jour for Ann extremely reasonable $16! Steak cooked perfectly to order; the chicken moist and flavoursome. Great salads, mine with a well seasoned vinaigrette...and I am fussy. Great wines. Fab service. Would recommend.... especially if you ever head here with hungry teenage mouthes to feed with an eye on value for money. Also worth a mention is “ service above the call of duty”. Sir absent-mindedly left his phone behind upon departure. A staff member appeared at our car door with said phone a mere seconds before we drove off into the dark Arrowtown night, having chased us down. Thank you! Will be back!

They changed the menu and good tasty food is taken out being a vegetarian, tofu burger had no taste or no sauces. Thank god for the cheese cake is still good. I came out very disappointed (The tasy green burgers were discountinued). We,, no more once a week lunch till menu goes back to normal.

Waiters were friendly but a bit lost had to request forks and salt and pepper, food looked great but flavours were off. Very average. Pork ribs were cooked well but heavily let down by the marinade and the rump was over cooked (didn’t even ask how we wanted it) and the butter that came with it was just weird- capers and lemon?...
Over all just a bit average which was a let down cos it seemed really cool!
Great potato’s though!
