First time at La Rumbla… why it took us so long is beyond me. What an awesome experience in every way, from the time we arrived until we departed and all in between. Ambience and atmosphere perfectly balanced along with the interaction from excellent waiting...staff and let us not forget the amazing food. 4 of us shared 7-8 plates of exquisite tasting and presented dishes that we all demolished… Thank you, we will be back again for sure.More
Locals favourite, we have been coming here for years. Always really delicious food and friendly service. Great cocktails. Ben is such an asset to your team. Always pleased to see him when we arrive. Thanks Ben for your great hospitality as always !
This restaurant is excellent, the food was exceptional also the service and the knowledgeable friendly staff
This little hideaway has a slightly exotic feel and is clearly attracting the in crowd. The food range was limited and quite pricey. It would have been nice to have a wider range of local beers. Staff helpful but somehow not that welcoming. Some seating...Is on bar stools which just isn't comfortable IMHO. Maybe it was just that night. Give it a tryMore
Absolutely the best meal of our 2 weeks around the South Island — the ceviche and vegan paella were highlights for me! And it’s a beautiful, interesting space (albeit noisy). But the best part was the service—IMPECCABLE and well-timed, unlike EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT in which...we dined! Just perfectly attentive but not intrusive, and all the wait staff look like supermodels! Worth every penny … and then some!More
A very good meal more good than great But you don’t leave hungry We had steaks and the meat was excellent but not cooked perfectly So very solid good meal in a good atmosphere with a great outdoor area
Excellent food, lovely building and nice atmosphere with good selection of wines and spirits to complement the tapas style menu. Strangely impersonal service from staff who were efficient but lacking any of the warmth we’ve been used in NZ. It was busy but not overly...and we had the impression that we were being given a favour by being allowed to eat there. Not quite the customer service we’ve experienced everywhere else in Otago. As a father and son celebrating joint birthdays in NZ on our first visit to the country it was a slight shame and marred the otherwise excellent food.More
Such a dedicated team that serves you here! Great selection of dishes, wine and cocktails. Easy in and out, well worthy of a reservation when your in this hood!
excellent attentive but not OTT service. the food dishes were tasty without being nek level. nice wine range as well, I hope to try this place again soon.
Family of 6 (including older children) and we ate here for dinner during our stay in Queenstown area. We have done a lot of activities, ate many nice meals and our evening and meal at La Rumbla was hands down everyone's favourite!! The food selection...and flavours were amazing and we loved every single dish (we almost got one of everything on the menu). Wine list was also good and the recommendations from staff to pair a local wine with our meal was great! Make sure you book in and dine here... you won't regret it! Thank you for a wonderful experience!More
Great little restaurant had a very enjoyable evening. Ambience , food and drinks and service all first class. No hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others . You may eat and drink too much but Arrowtown is lovely to walk around after dinner.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were delicious. The tapa’s were the best I have ever had and it’s great to see the menu is sourced from local growers. Highly recommended this place to anyone
My wife and I have eaten here 8 times this year so far. It’s a lovely place with the most amazing staff that are extremely friendly and treat us so well. Can’t wait to come back again. Tapas with slight variations each time. Great to...host friends or family in a fun stylish Arrowtown place.More
We went especially for the Paella - we were told 1/2 hour wait time for this. No worries we ordered whilst waiting the beetroot dish and also the tuna Tiger Milk both of which were dleicious. Excellent. A longer wait followed and the paella eventually...was served - generous prawns , one or two clams and mussels but the rice was brown!! I always thought and stand to be corrected that paella was was yellow - I think chef had got mixed up somewhere and had put soy sauce as the flavoring and the arbori rice was brown for some reason and far too strong for the dish. Most disappointing. The Tamarillo as dessert was very flavorsome though. Service - very busy and as above the paella took just over an hour to appear. I ordered a glass of bubbly - Laurent Perrier @ $30 a glass which was virtually thrown at our table without a 'ma'am enjoy' , smile or anything really! Servers were perfunctorily polite but not really interested....... Not a restaurant for the 'oldies' and don't go for a high table if you've had your hips done :>) :>) not comfortable !!More
