Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went for lunch to the New Orleans Hotel and it was absolutely perfect. Lovely selection of beers and wines, excellent food, and a lively ambience. The views are stunning. We ate a burger, some roast lamb, and couple of salads, all of which were...excellent. Would definitely recommend.More

Such a inviting spot and very open for families. The meals were superb and my children throughly enjoyed the Kiwi Burger much tastier and better than the Ferg burger they said lol

Comfortable accommodation in newly renovated motel style units. Access is via long flight of stairs from lower street level or via busy noisy pub, Staff were most courteous and helpful

This was a lovely find on the main street in Arrowtown, I had a delicious burger and my wife had a pulled pork burger. Both looked and tasted fantastic Well worth a visit for the burgers alone

Popped in for a cold beer after a day's biking. Lovely sitting outside in the sunshine people watching. Generous portion of samosas from the snacks menu. The youngest bar staff we've ever seen! (See photo of them outside having lunch).

We visited here with our family tonight, and had such a good experience. Children ages 14, 8 and 5. The service was amazing, we ordered the steak and pork belly , kids ordered pizza, ribs, and nuggets and chips , everything was delicious , decent...portions and so well priced compared to other places. It was a very relaxing fun family night out , thank you very much.More

It’s unfortunate that you can’t give 0 stars. Terrible and rude customer service! Unstaffed which I understand but after waiting 15 mins to order while we watch the lady make coffees , to get told they are not doing hot drinks anymore with such a...rude smirk look towards us. Not friendly or welcoming at all. If you’re looking for good food and good service best bet is Miles From Nowhere, great all around.More

Because of the chill air we had to go inside, and there we got some warmth for our stiff legs in front of the fireplace. Along with mulled wine a real winner for a cold day.

Firstly the good stuff - the rooms are warm, low priced and in a handy location. The view is nice from the river view rooms. I’ve stayed at the hotel several times over a few years so had a pretty good idea of what to...expect - although the rooms are basic, the draw card was being able to be in the pub during the day (as advertised), warm fire and good nosh. The pub was closed on the day we arrived however - it’s accepted that these are difficult times, but email advice could be easily provided. It was a very cold and wet welcome and certainly did not live up to expectations. We were left to flounder about in the rain to find our way in and to make contact with the owner. No welcome was provided either verbally or by advance email (goodwill costs nothing!!). Though the bed was good, the rooms could be cleaner. Aspects of the electricals seemed unsafe (high dangling jug cords over a chair, steam into tv vents). Not sure if I’d go again.More

Accomodation was ok for what it is. Pretty noisy during the night with the pipes going off every 20 mins or so from the hotel though. Manager was not very welcoming or obliging so that but a big dampener on our stay, because of her...we made sure not to spend our money at the bar/restaurant so can't really review that. The Winery however is underneath this hotel and an absolute must. Great wine tasting, coffees and wonderful hospitality as it is different management.More

The room was nice and spacious with every facility that we needed. The bed was superb and we slept well. Access without coming through the hotel was good. Sky TV was good and there was excellent wifi. Dinner in their restaurant was nice and reasonably...priced. Great service and there was minimal delay between ordering and the food arriving ( this was a pleasant surprise given the large crowd). Guests get 10% off their meals by mentioning their room number. Being in the main street meant we were close to everything. Parking was available in a carpark behind the hotel but be aware that the area immediately behind the hotel is limited to two hours. However: We were disappointed that they could not find our booking when we arrived. Somehow they had my first name correct but my last name incorrect. While I understand their reasons, it would have been nice of the host to pre-warn us that they had stopped providing breakfast. We booked there because we could get dinner and breakfast onsite. While the food was good we believed that an additional $4 for a gluten free bun was a little steep. We had intended to pay with eftpos but the hotel had used the credit card, required by to guarantee the room, to pay for the room before we arrived and charged us a surcharge. We did note that the carpet in unit 2 looked as though it needed a steam clean.More
