We often come and visit Arrowtown to just have their pies and sausage roll with a nice chocolate milkshake. It has been a tradition since we have been to Arrowtown. Staff are friendly and their steak and mushroom pie was delicious, yes proper steak and mushroom pieces. Lovely place on a sunny day to sit outside. We caught the bus to Arrowtown, have a walk on the Main Street shops and catch the bus back to Queenstown. The bus was very convenient, runs every hour and only cost $1 per person each way using Bee card.

Whilst driving through to Queenstown we decided to stop at Arrowtown and the first café we came upon was the bakery. My table ordered meat pies and coffee which were so nice that we went in and ordered dessert, something we don't usually do. We had an apple slice and a custard slice which were also amazing. There are plenty of outside seating in an area to the side of the bakery. It is in an alleyway section but it is a nice sunny location which is out of the cold breeze. I cant wait to call in again the next time that I am through the area.

There are no tables inside, & that's a plus!! Order at the counter, then find a seat outside where you overlook the main street - people watching at its best!! Then there's the food - Arrowtown Bakery might be famous for pies, but in our view the 'breakfast buttie' is as good as it gets for brunch!! And, despite being a 'famous' coffee outlet, their tea is so good I had to have seconds. Definitely fine days work best, but don't be put off by what seems to be a simple operation - the proprietors have got their product down to a fine art.

While visiting Arrowtown with my daughter, we found it to be lunch-time, so scouted the main street, Buckingham Street, for options. We were not looking for anything too expensive, and settled upon the Arrowtown Bakery which had both inside and outside seating options. Outside seating would be suitable for prams, wheelchairs etc. We went inside to peruse the menu and place our order at the counter. Unfortunately they had run out of decaf coffee, but all other items were in stock. We ordered eggs benedict (the smoked salmon option) and the caramelised banana pancakes and took our number. Food was delivered promptly to the table and was tasty, staff were friendly. Venue accepts either cash or card. Closes at 2pm.

We had breakfast here on a busy Sunday morning. AB is brillant value for money (their full breakfast is under 20 bucks!) and the coffee is great. My daughter accidentally spilled her hot chocolate and was upset (as she was enjoying it so much). Despite having no need to do so, and completely unrequested, the AB team replaced her drink and put a smile back on her face. Brilliant service.

Just after a quick bit to eat. Range looked good, service was none existent. We had a pie and muffin. Both were great tasting and fresh, the place is just let down by no customer service, one of the staff even walked away after starting to take our order and expected another to take over and it wasn’t very busy

The meal and food is great. Encourage you to try their pies ( mushroom or steak, or other), fairly nice home made, with good crust and filling. Better than some pies tried elsewhere in Te Anau or Wanaka. Drink choice is also good including coffee. Water can also be served. Service was cheerful and engaging. Imagine they get very busy and at times short staffed but this didn't seem to stop the guy who served us who made us laugh. ( 'its pretty hot and busy actually!') The outside area is also quite nice to eat in. The surrounds are also very pleasant to look at including birds and people. Overall would say it is very good, and would bring friends to the area to this cafe and bakery. Goes to show the service and product in Arrowtown can be worthwhile. Suggest. Thumbs Up.

Top notch. We visited for brunch. The shop was busy with tradies getting their lunch. We ordered coffees, a big break and a cinnamon scroll. Hubby could hardly manage to eat the full breakfast - I helped him out by eating some of the baked beans which were home made and delicious. He had 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, a big pile of mushrooms, the baked beans and toast all for $18. The cinnamon scroll was yummy. The coffees were nice and hot. The staff were friendly and efficient.

OK, NZ pies were not my favorite food. Most had too much gravy. So, when I saw the Thai chicken pie, I just had to try it. It's basically a curry chicken dish in a pie instead of rice. It was by far my favorite pie during my trip to NZ. Busy place but the line moved quickly.

Beautiful fresh whitebait, butties, coffee to take out. Efficient friendly service in this busy little spot. Sweet treats looked delicious. Dog walkers running in to grab a custard slice testimony to this

We ordered the steak pies with peas and mashed potato. We should have ordered just one steak pie and then another steak pie, peas and potato and shared the peas and potato. Huge serving. Delicious pies.

Easter Sunday today and very busy. After Queenstown asking New Zealanders to visit we did but Arrowtown Bakery and Cafe counter staff member seemed to find us inconvenient in her day. Rude. Food was ok as were other staff.

We ordered for the pies, peas, gravy and mash deal and were so disappointed to be served instant grey, tasteless mash. The pies were excellent and peas and gravy toobut I’ve not eaten instant mash since i was a scout 40 years ago...and it hasn’t got any better. Should never happen at a cafe. Lazy.

We wandered into the cafe part (there is a separate entrance for the bakery) and it was pretty full both inside and outside with a small queue. The pies were good without being excellent, as was the service. The inside seating is limited and a bit tight meaning staff and customers are struggling for the same space at times.
