OK Food, slow service.

We had as appetizer the baked Camembert, it was tasty and a good size. The mains were the lamb and the chicken roulade, both were OK but rather boring prepared and even salt and pepper didn't make it much better. The beer was good after it finally arrived.

Delish Food - Customer Service Average

Ordered lamb shank with mash and veges. It was so delicious. Only down fall was they took ages to clear our plates I had to ask for it to be done. We were probably finished 30+ mins before they did. They also stuffed up the billing and said one of our guests hadn’t paid when they had. Apparently isn’t the first time it’s happened with large groups. If I was to go back wouldn’t be in a big group.

1st time here.Big place upstairs where the restaurant is n downstairs.They have a bar upstairs n downstair.My meal was a single shank with mash n veges it was yummy.I hesitated to order coz I looked at other people's reviews on the food so I avoided.But I enjoyed my meal.Service was good n plenty of parking coz it's in the Takanini Village Centre.Has a little gaming area.And a awesome massive screen to watch sports on I mean massive.

Best hidden gem in Takanini NZ

This is a not to be missed place if you are near Takinini best service and food. The staff are so friendly and the food is constantly top notch. Worth a visit

Lucky to get a seat on a Friday night, busy place but can't fault the service and our food was delicious. Salmon dish and pork belly dish cooked perfectly 👌

Family dinner

Steak night

We recently visited on a thursday which is "Steak night" I had a Scotch fillet and eggs and chips and my partner had the surf and turf, we also had pork ribs.The price was fair for what we got and I have always enjoyed our meals here the slightly negative thing I can say is that my steak was ordered medium rare and was more on the medium well side, in future ill order it rare. Again enjoyed our floor staff were courteous as always, definitely will return.

Not great for large groups

Been before and it’s usually great. Staff lunch here they didn’t cope well with a big group food took a long time to arrive and one of our party waited nearly an hour.

Disappointing to say the least.

Decor fails miserably to portray an antique Blacksmith themed environment. Small over cooked steak, flavorless under seasoned salad and thin runny sauce. Over all extremely underwhelming and highly over priced meal. NOT RECOMMENDED.

A large group of 15 descended upon The Blacksmith Eatery and Bar. Nice location in Takanini. Comfortable seating and biggest tv ever seen. But service was horrible. Unresponsive. Ordered drinks and asked for some pitchers of water. Water never came. Waitstaff never asked if we wanted refills on our beers/drinks. Food is typical pub food and a few extra choices on the daily specials. Food came out hot and as we ordered, but waitstaff never checked on us. We had to get up and get our own cutlery and napkins. Nice place, ok food but absolutely abysmal service. Skip it!

Shocking Service

Last night after dining at the Restaurant fortnightly for 6 months, the manager disgusting said to my 14-year-old daughter, to whom she had mistaken as an adult said to her "Take your hat off, I told you before". I am happy with being told to take the hat off. The way she was told however, I was not okay with both myself and my husband. Brushing off the shocking experience, we made our way to the Manurewa Cosy Club. My daughter who put deliberately put her hat on again was asked politely by the man to "Could you take your hat off please maam. Thankyou" with a smile. The experience was like night and day.

I have been to blacksmith numerous times however was quite disappointed in our last visit. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza. The pizza was “large” however did not feel like a large pizza and was very doughey. It was also served on a white dinner plate which didn’t really give it the “restaurant” feel. Others at our table also commented on the average food. Dont think I will be back as with the prices they charged, it was nothing special. Such a shame as the last time I went I really enjoyed the meal. Not sure what’s changed!!

Food here is OK. We unfortunately took the pizza which was covered in cheese and oil. Margherita it was not!! I ate two slices. Beer and wine was OK but a trifle expensive. Overall pretty poor.
