Someone suggested I visit Calum’s Bakery today. First impressions the food looked quite nice, however after I purchased food I went to the bathroom to wash my hands....it was filthy! I informed the staff at the counter that the room needed attention but in the...15-20 minutes or more that I was there nothing was done. Very disappointing!! Lesson learned ... check the bathrooms before purchasing food, it’s a fair indication of the care taken by the business. ( if have chosen not to share the photo).More

Our family have been buying from this bakery for years. What can I say? — for years we have been consistently getting out muffins, cronuts, sandwiches, cookies and recently coffee— it’s good too! Never had any bad experience from the stuff we purchase since 2001....A lot of people driving thru Papakura from Clevedon actually buy their breakfast and lunches from this bakery. Their open very early in the morning with their freshly baked treats and sandwiches. — it’s very popular with the locals.More

This Bakery is a must visit location and eatery every time I am in Auckland. Why? It is the epitome of the Traditional NZ bakery. Wholesome no-nonsense freshly made pies, bread, cakes, rolls, sandwiches, slices and really good cappuccino and hot chocolates, even the gluten...free selection is tasty. The meat pies are full of quality fillings and tasty sumptuous hot gravy. The bacon and egg pies, my personal favorite are reminiscent of my youth and getting harder and harder to come by anywhere else. The cream donuts, each one a masterpiece of old style taste and texture are another must have. There are a few chairs and tables for a dine in experience or pack up the back seat for a picnic on the coast, or just to have later on. No visit to Auckland is complete without a trip to Calum's.More

Calum’s is a bit of an institution in Papakura. We came here on a family trip to get a famous donut... super yum! But the sneaky surprise find was an awesome pie! Amazing pastry, chunky steak... pity we live in Australia... or maybe it’s a...good thing otherwise we’d be here all the time. Coffee was pretty good too.More

Crispy fluffy crust, super hot fillings with hearty steak, melted cheese, and dark gravy sauce is exactly what a kiwi pie should be! Sitting in front of the bakery on a Sunday afternoon and observing the locals popping in every other minute just proved that...how successful this baker is! Great variety of savoury and sweet bakings to chose from, shop is clean and fast service. Sadly didn’t get a chance to try the steak and kidney pies (was highly recommended) as they were sold out but that just give me another chance to return :)More

Calum’s knows what’s up. This place is one of the last bastions of classic kiwi bakeries. If bakeries were North American native tribes, Calum’s would be the last of the mohicans

Extraordinary selection - fantastic quality - brilliant coffee and great staff. It’s quirky decor and autographed pictures add to the ambience. Previously only known by reputation, now experienced and addicted!
