Hawkes Bay is blessed with several excellent Thai restaurants, but this one is bay far my favourite.
I hadn't been for a while and decided to return for lunch. For Mains, I had the Stir-Fried Rice Noodles with Pork, which was delicious. However, the Spring Rolls starter - though also delicious - was a big letdown. For $9.50, only 3 tiny rolls are provided. Most Thai restaurants offer 3 or 4 MUCH larger rolls AND cost far less.
I would respectfully suggest that either the quantity is increased to at least 6, or the price is lowered to a MAXIMUM OF $6.
Though I will definitely continue to visit this wonderful restaurant, I will not be ordering a starter!!

We booked first and it was just as well. This is a very popular place, even on Wednesday. We were welcomed a very friendly Thai lady and the wait staff were very attentive without being annoying . Our appetisers were very nice with hubby having the Tom yum Gai soup and I had the mixed platter starter for one. A great way to taste a few different starters. Mains were Gai Fai hot which was very tasty and the crispy pork hot plate from the speciality list. Could not fault either dish. They have a very good drinks selection too with the wine good pricing. A wonderful experience and we highly recommend. Will definitely be back when we are next in Hastings

Our family likes to come here as our first choice because we know the maitre’d, Linda is always so accommodating (we never book), incredibly personable, super friendly and has her eye the service, clocking where every table is at. The food is tasty and authentic, our young boys quickly adapt to whatever we order and it makes our experience pleasurable. This restaurant needs to be on your speed dial if you fancy a night out and your not quite sure what you fancy!

I ordered food and was told that it will be ready in 20 minutes. After waiting for over a half an hour I then ask if its ready then I get told it will be ready in 5 mins. I didn’t end up getting my meal till after I had waited for 50 minutes and as I go up and get my meal after waiting that long the girl behind the counter ask me have you paid for this, when clearly she served me and I done payment upon ordering per usual. Felt very insulted by that.

Purchased #24 takeaway, vegetables with pork. The pork was inedible, overcooked, so tough that I could not chew anything but the fat on it. Could have been used as studs on the boots of an All Black it was that hard. Vegetables were cooked well, so that part of the takeaway was edible.

Linda is an amazing host. She greets her regulars by name and makes everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Even though we didn’t have a booking, she fit us in at a good table. The food is delicious, and I highly recommend the crispy pork on the sizzling plate.

Best Thai in HB, the duck rolls are amazing for entree and all the mains we’ve had are delicious (we visit a few times a month).
Service is always great, fast and friendly.
Value for money too 3 entrees, 2 mains and 2 drinks for under $100

We enjoyed our evening. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly and will make sure you have a good night. The best Thai meal we have had and love going back there. Great selection of food and cooked to how you want it. Not spicy in my case and they always oblige. Great service.

Really great food. My wife enjoyed the Tom Yum soup. Good heat and plenty of flavour. I enjoyed the seafood parcel. Plenty of seafood - 4 scallops, mussels, squid and chicken. It had a 2 chilli rating, but g to fear.

Not sure what has changed at Thai silk as it has always been my favourite thai restaurant but food just not the same and flavours different, service was poor took nearly 30 mins to clear empty plates no asking us if we wanted more drinks during our visite and no offer of dessert till 40mins after finishing our meal, think its time to find a new favourite thai restaurant.

We came here quite late for our daughters 18th birthday we were welcomed with a warm smile and seated with an extensive menu I was blown away by the friendly fun service of the staff and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting our dishes came out so fast!!! They were all too
Quality dishes mouth watering curries and tasty entrees all fresh veges and generous servings... thankyou so much thai silk you made our daughters 18th such beautiful memories “grateful” xoxo
