indian restaurant top eating and excellent pricing

excellent service and price. Very tasty mango curry. Nice open spacing with tables. Will go back soon for another meal

Consistently good

Staying with family in Havelock North, Star of India was already a favourite and I am more than happy to have enjoyed no less than 4 takeaway meals in the course of a 4 week stay;-). Generous portions with spice tempered by rich flavours were...ever present and the only sadness is that we are heading home to UK and will have to bide our time until we can visit again. Excellent!!!!!!More

Fantastic food

Fantastic food couldn’t fault it but would be nice if restaurant was separated from the takeaway area maybe with screening and some blinds at the window so you don’t get blinded by the car lights when people park at the front

Best lamb vindaloo

They have revamped and it's nice...lovely butter chicken as always but the Best lamb vindaloo I've had in years. I aksed for "hot" and it was spot on for me, the right amount of vinegar...a few chunks of spud would have been good but no...complaint. I have enough for my dinner tonight happily.More

Excellent Wedding Catering

Dan Singh and the team at Star of India catered the lunch and dinner for our wedding at Blackbarn Vineyards. They did an amazing job organising the service and the food was very authentic. We could not recommend them highly enough.

A great find for a small town!

Delicious food with a menu that stretches beyond the New Zealand standards. Not much seating area or ambience, but the quality of the food and the friendly staff more than makes up for it. Great place to grab a takeaway if you don't want to...sit in.More

excellent food

Delicious food. fast service and great staff. The place provides an easy upgrade to the Express lunch to have it at the restaurant. Every single dish we ordered was delicious.

Evening meal

Big smiles all round

We visited for dinner as a family group of 16 and we are delighted with the excellent service and fantastic food Despite the size of our group service was prompt food came out quickly and was exactly as we requested BYO wine makes this even...more affordable but what great value Would highly recommendMore

Fantastic

My family booked a table for 15 last night at the Star of India. The waitstaff were polite & kind and the food came out quickly for our large table. Every one was really happy with their dishes, the food was delicious. I would highly...recommend.More

Friendly Service

What a great experience to sit down and have a meal here - brilliant, friendly attentive staff was really what made dinner a delight. Food was fast and great (although a little sweet for our palettes), but this didn’t at all detract from a pleasant...outing. Well done Star of India!!More
