What a great experience to sit down and have a meal here - brilliant, friendly attentive staff was really what made dinner a delight. Food was fast and great (although a little sweet for our palettes), but this didn’t at all detract from a pleasant outing. Well done Star of India!!

Staying with family in Havelock North, Star of India was already a favourite and I am more than happy to have enjoyed no less than 4 takeaway meals in the course of a 4 week stay;-). Generous portions with spice tempered by rich flavours were ever present and the only sadness is that we are heading home to UK and will have to bide our time until we can visit again. Excellent!!!!!!

Fantastic

My family booked a table for 15 last night at the Star of India. The waitstaff were polite & kind and the food came out quickly for our large table. Every one was really happy with their dishes, the food was delicious. I would highly recommend.

Excellent Wedding Catering

Dan Singh and the team at Star of India catered the lunch and dinner for our wedding at Blackbarn Vineyards. They did an amazing job organising the service and the food was very authentic. We could not recommend them highly enough.

Excellent Takeaway meals

Delicious meals, whether hot, medium or mild. Catered to pretty much all types of people eating criterias. Very polite staff, excellent delivery service and driver courtesy . Yummy Naan breads , willkeep going back.

Great Meals & Very Top Line Naan Bread

Chose this place on TA ratings. Was a bit surprised by the decor and kitchen being shared with a takeaways outlet. The decor was very old looking . However the food and especially the Naan bread was excellent! The bread comes with great fillings therein. Now we are going to try their P.N. place.

Excellent meal

Dined here on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We shared a Mixed Platter, followed by Beef Kadai and Prawn Malwari. All dishes were excellent and served piping hot. Service was excellent and we will definitely return - thank you.

Very nice staff in a great indian restaurant. Had one of my best lamb curry ever. The size of the meals are ok, the taste was perfect ( try the mango kulfi at the end...! ) Go there, it´s worth.Thank´s to the team.

Best lamb vindaloo

They have revamped and it's nice...lovely butter chicken as always but the Best lamb vindaloo I've had in years. I aksed for "hot" and it was spot on for me, the right amount of vinegar...a few chunks of spud would have been good but no complaint. I have enough for my dinner tonight happily.

"Great Butter Chicken"

While on holiday we ordered a takeaway from here. The butter chicken was the best I have had in a long time. Also the lamb tikka was superb along with the garlic naans. Very enjoyable dinner. Next time we are in Hastings we will dine in. Highly recommended.

A great find for a small town!

Delicious food with a menu that stretches beyond the New Zealand standards. Not much seating area or ambience, but the quality of the food and the friendly staff more than makes up for it. Great place to grab a takeaway if you don't want to sit in.

outstanding Indian Meal

Service, ambience, parking, food and restaurant cleanliness were all excellent. Large portions of curries and breads. Flavours were interesting and distinct. Beef was tender.
