Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service was fast and friendly. The movie theater was comfortable and the Southern fried chicken (delivered to our seat) was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to return

In this day and age you’d expect service with a smile. Not what we got from the woman who served us. We get enforcing rules, but you can still be polite and kind about it. Even the hōha teens noticed the attitude. Also, how come...there is no student price for tickets? People aren’t going to return when it’s $18 for a teen and the service is rude and grumpy. I’d go to the other Hastings area cinema always from now on. Over priced snacks and expensive tickets for kids over 14 will only lead to people sneaking in their own snacks and going elsewhere. Such an easy fix, I hope it happens.More

Visited after a lengthy break from this venue then remembered why we don’t choose to go here 🤦‍♀️ You’ve got it all going on, reasonable menu, pleasant decor, up to date films, even a liquor licence but you just can’t get the staff! Got the...grumpiest, most abrupt server when we came in to watch a family film. Slammed our popcorn down on the counter, making it spill, asked for our drinks choices then as I was giving them said “Hang on I am doing the popcorn now!” Then got them wrong anyway. Even my young children commented on the terrible service. Here’s a hint, if you don’t like serving people, don’t! Ugh, that was your last chance. We won’t be back, there are other cinemas in Hawkes Bay you could learn from if you have any customers left.More

Thought we’d come in and give the place another go, but as before it was terrible. No ones cleaning up, dishes were left in the cinema and on the tables. The coffee was terrible as was before and staff don’t seem to be doing anything....Pick up your actMore

Have been going here for a while now and thought it time to add a review. Love the happy hour wed-fri. Good value. Have just started eating the salads on the evening menu. I have had the salmon and also the beef. Absolutely delicious. Never...thought salads could be so good and so filling. The staff are wonderful. Very attentive even when under the pump. Place is a bit small however.More

After already being more expensive than other movie cinema the staff will take store bought lollie off your kids in order to push their hugely inflated confectionaries. My children were upset as I couldn’t afford to replace our cheap supermarket lollies with movie lollie. It...really took the shine off the experience and in future we will take care to sneak our things in better.More

I'd not been to this cinema in awhile and it made me realize that I need to get out and see more films on the BIG screen. Management of this small chain with multi-screens in Levin, Fielding & soon Palmy North do an excellent job...of blending cafe experience with a modern comfortable cinema. Plus, the starkraving audio system really makes you "feel" the sound...sort of a surround sound. Excellent local wines from Linden Estate, Clearview, Ashridge and others by the glass -- and served in a glass, not plastic, for under $10. Good value.More

I've not been to a cinema like this one - where you can get a decent meal and see a film. The food is genuinely good here, you can even order some to have in the film with you! The cinema is also very good,...with comfy wide seats and space. Films are played are of good quality and it doesn't matter where you sit, you will have a good view. Very happy to have this cinema in Hastings! And their event evenings are excellent. I recently took my Mum to the Mamma Mia ladies evening, very good!More
