Close to the central shopping area of Hastings a location positive factor is that it's walkable. The service is very friendly, fast and helpful. The meals were average in price and my colleagues liked their scallop option. All the meals had a generous serving of salad, which is a bonus as many restaurants don't seem to see vegetables as important... More

Love the food there. Nice meals and friendly service at reasonable prices. Great to go with family friends- small or larger group. Have been there several times both for a work function and a small group of friends .Friendly helpful staff. Handy to the city

Our table service was on point all the way and the food was perfect. They caterd to our childrens needs and made sure everything... More

Down the Road is a nice place to have lunch (and they change their specials everyday), or a drink or two with some colleagues or friends. Friendly staff. Great menu options. Will be back again !!!

From the outside the restaurant is fairly unremarkable, being a pub but the food is lovely, super priced and the staff really pleasant and attentive The belly pork is excellent.

Went to down the road for lunch today and had the fish and chips and a drink. Very good and filling. Brillliant and efficient service. Will definitely go there again next time in the evening to try.

This restaurant/bar has been going in central Hastings for 3 years and I never knew it existed. My bad, I guess. Our sunday lunch was great! I had that day's special of scotch fillet on potato & kumara gratin with a green pepper jus, with oddly, four big mussels in their shell. $40. They do some GF dishes if you... More

The steak special meal was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. They accommodated my friends special requests.. like no onion cabbage or dressing on the salad. Only let down was the chef's special desert.... For a rhubarb and strawberry shortcake there was not really enough rhubarb or strawberry for the $12 price tag..
