My partner and I were only in Hawke's Bay for a short time but we ate at the13th Stag everyday!!! The coffee was excellent and always delivered with a smile! To eat, we had the chilli mushrooms, shakshuka, pulled pork eggs benny, avo (very very generous) feta smash with rye toast, egg white omelette, kumara salad and a smoothie bowl. All dishes had decent portions and very beautifully presented.
Highly recommend checking out this hidden treasure

We were with a group of 9 to catch up with coffee. We all ordered different cabinet food. Scones were a little dry but okay with extra butter and jam. Coffee was great. Really handy to be able to park right outside for those of us who were disabled - really easy access. Prompt service and friendly staff.

Have been to my fair share of Cafes and this place is certainly up there with one of the best. The Mexican powerbowl and Flat White I ordered was very good and if they weren't such a good size I would have ordered more. Staff were so friendly and good for a laugh.

I am writing this because I use the pool regularly and want the cafe to improve. Today the scone I ordered was too dry to eat. I did talk to staff about it but no compensation given. I also had to wait a very long time for my coffee that I later saw was sent to another table. Hey I am definitely not one to complain and the first time I have done so on here. But saying that eating out, and the prices are definitely on the high side here, is very expensive so you should be given quality and good customer service. I hope improvements are made.

This is a large cafe style venue with a healthy menu and lots of cabinet food to choose from. The service was good, although it was a busy weekend and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was really good, all in our party of 6 enjoyed their meals a lot.

An absolute hidden gem in Hawke’s Bay. Staff are very professional, welcoming and friendly. Brilliant coffee is always served with a smile.
Food was delicious and healthy.
Plenty of variety that caters for all.
Competitively priced, will be back for sure!

Almost loathe to share this place as we want to keep it to ourselves.... but the secret is out.
The food is DEVINE, the service is FAB. Close to both home and work I visit more than I should.... and the ladies always have a cold cider ready for when a cold cider is needed.

The service here is absolutely terrible.
I was ignored while waiting to be served as the young ladies stood around talking.
When I was eventually approached, it was without a hello or smile. Just a snarky "what can I get you"
I waited almost 15 minutes for my coffee. There were no other ordered placed after me. I clearly had interrupted a gossip session that needed to be finished before it was made. During their conversation the barista shouted "what the f***!!!"
She was a loud mouth with no customer service skills and a sour face. A lot of staff members on, doing no work. What a shame.
On the plus side, brownie and coffee was delicious.
How disappointing for the owners to have employees representing their business that way.

Great new cafe with amazing stuff ! Much needed in hawkes bay and I lovedevery second there. Lovely coffee from ozone coffee roasters and great baristas. Awesome food which is also very healthy ! Be back soon.

The Pulled Pork Eggs Bene was up there with one of the best meals I’ve had! 13th Stag have certainly outdone themselves one and will 100% be back 👌🏻
