We walked to the winery from the Ferry. We were welcomed by a very friendly waiter who was super chill, but also very efficient, and helpful, drinks food and dessert were all great, and the scenery was an added bonus, will be back for sure!

Had a very enjoyable lunch at Omata Estate. There platter was excellent for the two of us and My wife loved the Rose wine. We had a nice spot near the pizza oven with beautiful view over the vineyard and sea. Also enjoyed the short...easy walk to the point through lovely forest. Would be excellent except we didn't really enjoy the staff talking very loudly about what food box they were using and their general personal lives - quite intrusive.More

Visited for lunch based on other reviews and were not disappointed! From the time we walked through the restaurant door where we were greeted/welcomed by a friendly and unpretentious young man until we left, service from all staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed (shared)...a pizza (genuine wood fired) which was large and tasty, a sweet platter and a couple of glasses of wine. The view is simply amazing, the rose lovely (chilled beautifully)!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this relaxed but professional place and would definitely return if we come back to Russell.More

We dropped by to try their red wines. Both red wines tasted were reasonable. The views were magnificent looking over the sea and the smell of cooking pizza resulted in having lunch there. Sitting outside with nice wine, great pizza and fantastic views made a...lovely experience. Staff were efficient and friendly. A most enjoyable experience.More

The view was amazing. The food was delicious, but most of all, the service was absolutely outstanding! We were a large group, but the service never slowed down. They were courteous, they were very accommodating. Well done 👍

As a local, I have enjoyed regular outings to Omata estate winery during their summer months. It has always been on my list of places to go when showing visitors around northland. Their platters are amazing! Unfortunately this year, it appears they have implemented a...new pricing strategy on their bottles of wine....A dine in price of $44 (for their Pinot Gris) or takeaway price of $26....?! I’m not sure they can justify the huge margin they are making on the dine in bottle? Would love an explanation from the winery? I was also extremely disappointed that I had emailed a booking a few day before, having not heard back, I phoned and left a voicemail the day before re-confirming as it was my mother’s birthday and I knew they would be busy. I still had not heard back on the morning of the booking and rang a couple more times and only got their answer phone which was an old message about Being closed Xmas day. When we arrived, they were fully booked of course. The only redeeming outcome was that the staff member managed to find a table for us but we were only able to stay for an hour. I would suggest that Omata Estate seriously review the pricing on their ‘dine in’ bottles and their booking system. There are many great wineries to visit in Northland that offer a more respectable price for a bottle of wine.More

Super spot offering mainly wood fired pizza in a casual setting overlooking the vineyard. The cellar door is an excellent experience with an introduction to their small yet quality selection of wines.
