Loved the calamari and the seafood chowder.
Service was friendly and helpful. We went with two families for dinner and managed to get the best table looking out on the water. Everyone was impressed with their meal.
Lovely to sit right in front of the water, service was efficient and food came out quite quickly, wine local beer and bubbly rose were lovely. Could not eat it all seafood chowder and Nasi Goreng, they kindly put it in a takeaway container for...usMore
I never experienced this before! I approached the coffee shop with the intention of getting takeaway coffees. There was a large aisle board outside announcing great coffee & food. All large windows & doors were open.
When I entered & ordered our takeaway coffees, a...young woman rudely told me there is no coffee & they are closed.
Accepting this, I asked her about using their toilet. She responded with a sour face that they have no public toilets.
Pointing out that I wanted to order coffees, but there were none & the cafe suddenly was closed, despite everything being wide open & advertised as such, I stated I would have been a customer.
She was very rude again but told me were the toilets were.
Afterwards, when I expressed my upset with her behaviours & attitude she started to argue with me ... until I left thourougly upset!
It seems like a minor incidence but those 15 minutes or so soured the rest of my otherwise lovely afternoon in Russell.
It would be great if her manager would have a talk with her about customer service & treatment ... She was a local (she told me), in her 20s & Maori. Kia Ora & nga mihi (from Whangarei)
Not a good presentation to potential Kiwi travelers & international tourists!More
