Went here for a lunch date just after Xmas and we where amazed at how beautiful the food was. Perfectly balanced with the freshest fish I've ever had. Try the escabeche picked fish and you won't go far wrong. Will definitely return next time we...are in town.More

Good atmosphere, food was good but the portion are very small, a bit fancy compare with other restaurants in the same area. This is the type of place where you have a drink and share fancy food, like tapas style restaurant. I wouldn't go if...I was very hungry. The oysters were really good!More

We had the fish tacos, venison tartare, kung pao chicken and "spuds" (i.e. potato chips). No oysters were available. The potato chips were the highlight of the meal. The flavours were the oddest mixture - sour, bitter, sweet and spicy all in one. No idea...who is taste testing the dishes. We did not finish our meal and will not be coming back. Very disappointed.More

This is one of the newer joints in town and oysters are opened to order. Surprisingly (to me anyway) none of the oysters on offer were local, but we forced down a dozen all the same. We had lamb and beef to follow perched up...on stools. This is a loud, busy and noisy place with rather too much modern techno for my taste but there is no denying the quality of the food here. We had a lovely evening and enjoyed the experience.More

There is a scene in ratatouille where the main character takes a bite of cheese and then a bite of the strawberry and fireworks go off in his mind... this restaurant has done that dish after dish!!! What a highlight of Nelson!

Fantastic food. Loved the bloody Maria. Delicious. The chips and Nz onion dip wow! The oysters were fab. The fish ceviche wrap was incredible. Chicken popcorn amazing. Totally a fantastic memorable meal. Sensational 👍👍

We tried our luck at the Urban Oyster Bar without a booking and managed to get a table for 2 with full view of the kitchen. Very busy on a Monday evening when it seems many other Nelson restaurants take a break. We didn’t try...the oysters but the sharing plates we did choose were great. Fish cake sliders, Mt Peel lamb, cauliflower & spring vegetables were ample and tasty. The service was friendly & excellent (even had one of the chefs deliver our sliders). The wine selection is undergoing a revamp at the moment but plenty to choose from. Enjoyed the food and the vibe.More

It's a good place for those who enjoyed eating in a very noisy bar. The menu had good healthy food. The high chair tables were tiny, so when served the Tapas dishes, the table was just too small !!! We ordered 5 dishes to share,...they were all ok, nothing to crow about. The crowded table and very noisy music just made the dinner very uncomfortable. However, it's not cheap !! We definitely won't be back.More

We had oysters, wide selection, chicken liver pate, delicious, venison beautifully prepared. Service good at first as we arrived before the rush but afterwards the staff seemed more concerned the their own relationships that with those of the customers
