Visited this place for my wife's birthday recently - the meal was second to none and the service excellent! The food is simply delicious and you will just LOVE IT! The castle, shops, playground and gardens are all a bonus!

Positives were the friendly & efficient staff & their willingness to adapt to dietary requirements Wasn't very impressed with the menu or food. At $70 per head many of us expected much more variety Stunning gardens

We had a tour of the fabulous Castle and then booked at the restaurant or my birthday lunch. We started with the fresh bread and Olive oil. I wanted the pan fried fish but it was tuna (which I don't like) but it was no...hassle for the kitchen to give me fresh sole instead. It was delicious. Hubby had the pork dish which he enjoyed very much. We shared a dessert of Spanish Custard and that was equally a mouth watering surprise. A pricy lunch at $117 including a drink each and coffee but you don't mind when its a special treat which we really enjoyed.More

Worth a drive from Oamaru or about 15 mins. Large venue and big choice of food. Several large gift shops on site with a huge array of kitchenware, gifts, toiletries, fake flowers etc. Nice gardens to wander around.

The food served to us today was 'to die for'. We both had the Okaahu lamb and I have never tasted lamb as well prepared and served. The atmosphere and service all combined to make this an excellent dining experience.

We ate breakfast here about 9.45am on a Saturday. There was plenty of room without needing to book. The service was very good. The food was exceptional. We had a huge plate of scramble eggs and the smoked fish hash. They were large portions. The...tea was leaf tea and the coffee good. The scones looked fantastic and if we had room we would have taken one away with us. Leave time to explore the awesome gift shops afterwards. The castle looked interesting too. Would recommend.More
