Awesome experience during busy Easter break. Food was delicious. I had Asian style Green lipped Mussels & mu husband had a Salmon salad then the"best ever" chocalte lava cake for dessert. Service excellent especially given how busy they were (turning people away). Only down side is openess of restaurant which I imagine could be feel cold in winter.

Morning tea was our meal at this establishment. The gluten free almond and orange cake disappeared quickly from the kids plates and the scone with onion chutney was very good too. Standard order of Chai latte and tea for one also very good and this restaurant uses tea pots and real tea. Interesting surrounds make this place a good one... More

Fairly large, barn like restaurant where attempts have been made to make it feel homely but without success. The food is superb and the slow cooked lamb that I had was full of taste and very tender and the accompanying gnocchi was cooked to perfection. Arguably a little over priced.

We dropped in for a late dinner and so we skipped appetizers and just had one main each. My husband's venison was well done and they substituted the cabbage with greens for him. My lamb was cooked very well but there was a bit of grizzly on one piece. The zucchini babaganish accompanying it was excellent. I order a bowl... More

The fact that this restaurant is a testament to the fact that it is a food destination worth seeking out! The location is a bit obscure. That said, it is indeed on the way when you are traveling through Otago and is the perfect place to stop for an exquisite meal. It is lovely and the food is delicious and... More

Came here for dinner on our way from Oamaru to Timaru. The place reminded me of Three Blue Ducks in Byron Bay. Farm to table but the grounds had more things to explore. We didn't make a reservation but the restaurant kindly accommodated us. The dining area is spacious and very comfortable, with high ceilings and well spaced out tables.... More

A fantastic lunch with friends who were visiting Dunedin from Auckland. Booking on-line was easy to do, and we received a very pleasant welcome. The meal was superb, two courses, excellent Amisfield wine and great to see Antipodes water. A must do if you're in the region. Recommend you book. Take your time to visit the verge gardens and of... I treated my teenage daughter to lunch here on our Otago road trip. It was very busy, but expected that would be the case on Good Friday. They were able to seat us straight away which pleasantly surprised us. I ordered the pork and fennel sausage and my daughter had the the pork rillette. Both were stunning in taste and... More

Everything about this place was 10/10 or in trip advisors ratings 5 stars. The waiter was lovely and provided the best service we have had. Actually enjoyed him coming over to check on us and take orders because his attitude was fun to be around. We ordered muscles, squid, venison, swordfish, and risotto. Everything was cooked to perfection. $ The... More

The famed Riverstone kitchen is no stones throw away but if you're passing by, make sure to stop in as natural, organic and locally sourced food is what they do best. They even make their own ice cream incase you just want a quick take away.
