Slow service, no choice for vegans at all, a few of the same sad choices for vegetarians that are offered in every other cafe. The Japanese food is also not good. Again, sad choices for vegetarians and presented and served with a lack of care...and thought. Not even a veggie sushi choice to take away. So disappointing as it could be so good.More

We are frequent visitors to Oamaru over the last five years. This place was our favorite for coffee and food. However, over the last 18 months or so it has become the worst place to go. Again, we went as the children we had with...us love the playground. The part of the building where the playground is smells really bad. The furniture where parents sit for food and coffee is filthy with sparrows flying around. One staff member walked through the area with a cloth and spray bottle 3 times and didn't clean anything. Not even the table that had dirty dishes on it for at least half an hour. We are also in covid level 2 so I expected more cleaning. Each child using the play area, including a toddler space, costs approx $5 for half and hour. This is expensive in my opinion. Then there is the coffee and food. We ordered 2 coffees and 1 child's fluffy. The fluffly was all but cold, very little milk, lots of fluff. Usually you get all drinks at the same time not one every 10 to 15 minutes. Then the food. Three items ordered and all came at different times. This is also after a long wait for the drinks and food. Quality of the food is very poor. Bacon is pre cooked, dry and hard, but still takes about 45 min for a simple bacon and eggs. Definitely not what it used to be.  More

Not very happy with our visit here. Playground area smelt super bad, toilets unclean. Moved to the cafe area - waited 40mins for our meals, tables weren't being cleared. Food was "ok". However kids loved the playground but we definitely wont be back.

Young girl on the counter was lovely and apologetic. The other two on front of house were very, very rude! Draw card for 7 kids on a wet day was the indoor playground. Told we weren’t allowed on but no specific number visible... so how...do they know?!? Food was at least half an hour wait... went to Scott’s brewery... AMAZING! Totally go there instead!More

This was terrible experience, staff were too busy talking to take our order. My partner asked for his food to be heated up, staff were rolling their eyes at each other and made rude gestures as they walked away. Would not eat there again and...would suggest others to go elsewhere, anywhere else in OamaruMore

This is the most terrible place I have been to. Waited 45 minutes for food that then came out as the wrong order, chips were cold & over cooked & the chicken burger was cold too. Nobody really cared either. Rather place wasn't even busy.....Will...never steep foot in the place again.More

We had heard great things! But so disappointing. The play space was the draw card for our 2 boys but what a mess. The area had been closed for a party so once that was over we were allowed to pay to go in. Unfortunately...the mess from the party remained there for over an hour after it finished & we left so who knows how long it actually stayed like it did for. I have laid a complaint and been told they were so busy etc but we had food prior to going to play area & they weren’t, just terrible service, & so slow. They have said they will refund our playground entry & took all my details but yet I am still waiting all these weeks on. We definitely won’t be back and have let our friends and family know not to bother either. Yuk!More

We went yesterday (Sunday 1 Nov 2020), spoilt for choice in Oamaru. First impression, very cozy and inviting, with a mix of tables and chairs or sofas. We ordered at the counter, the person that served us, was friendly, confident, quick, just what you want...in a restaurant/café. We got settled on a sofa, got our wine super fast xx. Our food came minutes later. I had the salmon quiche and salad and Grant (my husband) had the chicken wrap, OMG! The food was amazing! Hot, fresh and scrumptious !! Go you! You guys rock. We will be back. xxMore

Came for lunch the Sunday of Labour Weekend. Queued for 20 mins then waited 10 mins at the table for a lukewarm miso soup and a limp, microwaved cheese toastie. The tables were dirty and uncleared. Companion’s egg burrito wasn’t heated properly. I don’t understand...why they weren’t better prepared for Labour Weekend travellers. Won’t be going back.More
