The evening we spent at the Aegean Waters restaurant was a culinary experience rarely had at such great prices. The food was cooked perfectly with delicate seasoning and wonderful delivery. The ambience of the room is exceptional. I had oysters kilpatrick followed by the carpetbag steak. Marvelous! We finished off with the most perfectly executed profiteroles! This place rates up there with the best in the world!

We enjoyed a meal here. The cuisine is french and the menu is amazing. The waitress could not have been more helpful. The owner is an artist and created nearly all of the artwork on display which is delightful. We celebrated a birthday meal here and after we had decided not to have dessert, but the waitress was aware it was our birthdays, she brought out, at no charge, a selection of chocolates over hot ice. Brilliant touch to a good meal and great evening.

Wow, what a fantastic evening. We booked based on the menu and prices. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the penthouse with an elevated view over the restaurant and the foreshore. Drinks were ordered off the cocktail list, which boasts a wide range to suit just about all tastes. Ours were French martini, cosmopolitan, nutty professor, Caribbean cruise, and Victoria secret x2
Entrees where oysters kilpatrick, and green lip mussels. The mussels were plump and juicy, with garlic butter and a bread crumb top. The oysters where medium size but fresh and full of flavour, with a generous amount of salty bacon and a decent hot sauce for depth.
Mains arrived , duckling mandarin along with chicken, avo and peach champagne .
The duck was delicious and the balance of the sauce to compliment the perfectly cooked duck, was bang on.... however, the protein was almost out starred by the vegetables. They were sensational, particularly the zucchini and sauce. I never, EVER, eat all my veges first but in this case they were gone in no time.
The chicken breast was tender and moist, and the sauce was rich and flavoursome adding an extra layer texture and flavour profile.
Dessert was bombe Alaska for two. Serving size was enormous and was easily one of the best desserts we’ve had in a long time.
Liberty was an amazing host, and if you have the time to take in the artworks and the stories behind them, You’ll be amazed at just how creative these guys are.
We entered this restaurant hungry and hoping for a nice dinner, but left with the feeling we had just dined with best of friends. We will be back!

Before we even had a chance to say anything we received the rudest greeting ever by the sole waitress there. We should have turned around and walked out than and there to save ourselves further rudeness and coldness from the waitress as well as excessive cost that we wouldn't have blinked an eyelid at had meal been even mildly enjoyable, however the meal was very mediocre and missing love, depth, salt, pepper and fresh herbs. All meat "well done PLUS" which made me realise why the menu included a sentence saying no responsibility for over cooked meat.
We absolutely love trying new restaurants of all different cuisines from casual to fine dining. But this was just a big disappointment. Probably wouldn't have bothered to leave a negative review if customer service wasn't so so so rude. Don't visit this restaurant for a special occasion as rude waitress will just ruin it with terribly negative energy and coldness.
Decor is terrible, just junk and clutter everywhere, certianly not designed with any class or talent at interior design. The paintings of famous people are unrelated to France or foods. Certainly expect to see this show on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen nightmares any day now. Hopefully the first thing he does is send the waitress packing with the ugly decor and give the Chef some good lessons on cooking any cuisine well.

My partner and I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for zome time but I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. We had to ne there at 5.30 and we were thr onle ones there for about half an hour. I dont like giving bad reviews but when it is bad it is bad and I really can't find any positives about our dinner experience. The service was average at the most and the food was poor and really overpriced.
My partner had lamb brains which were tasteless and tough as if they had been in the fridge for a few days. Her eye fillet steak was also tough and poorly cooked. I had oysters which had been defrosted and were bearly edible and the lobster had no flaver. Needless to say we didn't have dessert. My advice is give this place a miss as there are so many better places to eat in the Bay. I reckon the cook has lost his passion.

Had a wonderful meal at Aegean Waters
Salmon and Trout terrine was fabulous , large serving so my husband and I shared it ! Followed by the French lasagne full of flavour and sauce to die for ! Lamb pan fried cutlets beautifully presented and cooked to perfection accompanied by flavoursome vegetables .
Too full for desert but ..... it was my husband’s birthday so the wait staff made up a little chocolate strawberry platter with candle on the house ... fabulous gesture .
Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting traditional flavoursome French fare! A little gem not to be missed in Harvey Bay !

Me and my wife were invited by our friends, it was the first time we visited this restaurant. Nice and comfortable little restaurant with many arts drawing by the hostess, we really loved them.
We had baked scallops and fresh oysters as entree, fish and steak as mains, wine, desserts, all very nice (sorry forgot all the names).
At the end of the night we received a complimentary dessert from the hostess: strawberry and chocolate dip, with some tasty cakes.
We had a lovely night, thanks for everything!

French atmosphere in a quaint space. Service was first rate less attention to dishes coming from the kitchen. All flowed well between drinks and food service. The entrees were amazing. Highly recommend the mini Lobster Mornay. Mains could have been spectacular, however, the lamb noisettes were well “ hockey pucks” and at the only time the service fell through was the lack of acknowledgement that the dish should have never come out of the kitchen. Truly - the menu states two distinct phrases 1) the chef makes no exceptions for anything over medium (meant for streak but who serves over cooked lamb) and “perfection in every dish” out of the kitchen. It was very clear that neither occurred with no apologies for a clearly flawed dish. Desert once again returned to exceptional with the custard with Orange flavoured accents making the fish exceptional. Yes, would have exceptional review for this lovely French Restaurant but the inability to except fault for a dish that should have never left the kitchen is disappointing.

We had a lovely night at Aegean Waters on Saturday. So nice to eat out again during these crazy corona times! We ate at the early seating and had plenty of time for entree, mains followed by house made chocolates, coffee and port. The full menu is on offer which is an awesome effort! We had the seafood crepe, my husband had fillet mignon with bearnaise sauce and I had carpetbag steak which is to die for! A wonderful meal, great selection of wine and wonderful service! Well done Christian and Liberty...legends! Great to have you back!

On our stay in Hervey Bay I was surprised to see there was a French restaurant on the esplanade. Bookings were essential due to COVID, so we made a dinner date. I did some research and found that this restaurant was one of the longest running restaurants in Hervey Bay. The food was as you would expect delectable but not to heavy created by head chef Christian who I noticed was dressed in traditional French regalia. The room was showing signs of age but the atmosphere was good and intriguing with wonderful portraits of celebrities surrounding the room (painted by our host and owner) to test your knowledge whilst waiting for our next course to be created. Only 2 negatives, my garlic bread was over burdened with garlic at the bottom of the bread and none at the top and there was a leftover food mark on my table cloth but over all it was a very enjoyable experience.

This restaurant is rated very highly but for the life of me I have no idea why. We booked for 6pm and we’re still waiting to be served at 6:20pm. There was one woman doing the bar and waiting on the tables. Everything just took so long and she was not really interested. We finally ordered and at 7:30pm we were still waiting for what turned out to be one of the most tasteless meals we have had for a long time. McDonalds has more flavour than our meal. My wife had the lamb and I had the duck. Why there was such a delay in the getting our meals we have no idea. One telling thing was that a family walked out because they waited over an hour for their simple fish dish and in the end it was inedible as it was cold and undercooked. I would never recommend this restaurant or would I ever go back. They must give themselves all the awards they have supposedly won.

A hidden gem. Very interesting ambiance, and delicious food. We weren't expecting to find a French restau in Hervey Bay and we were not disappointed. The escargots were excellent, hot, melted in your mouth and not too greasy. The coquilles St Jacques were also delightful. The mains of barramundi and duck were beautifully cooked, as were the veggies that accompanied them - and followed by profiteroles and mousse. all washed down with a soft red French wine. A most pleasant evening.

For 25 years Chef Christian, ex Toulon via Melbourne, had been offering classic French cuisine to the locals and visitors in Hervey Bay. It is truly pittoresque (aka quaint) including the ambiance, the napery, the service. The food was superb - escargot, seafood crepe, lamb noisettes, profiteroles. And the hostess helped us understand the connection between the Aegean and a French restaurant as well as the chef’s connection to the Collingwood Football team. A hoot!!

A step into a luxury dining experience! Greeted by the owner/artist who ran a one man show front of house affair, from the greeting, seating, getting drinks and taking your dinner order, to removing your dishes, greeting and seeing to other diners in a fairly full restaurant, to having a quick chat, keeping the flow going, to ensuring the music cast the right ambience, including happy birthday sung in French to another diner. Traditional French fare, beautifully cooked and assembled by her chef/partner. The food was beautifully presented, well cooked and simply delicious. We had soup to start, shared scallops mornay, which were generous in serving and not overcooked. Followed by well cooked lamb noisette, pink and juicy, the same said tor a medium rare fillet mignon! The piece de resistance was the most spectacular chocolate soufflé, totally unworldly, light as air and the best I have ever tasted!!
What a wonderful experience!! Thank you indeed!!

If you are looking for a little slice of France in Australia this French restaurant in beautiful Hervey Bay is the place to go. From the moment you walk in to the restaurant you feel like you have been transported to France with quaint decor and a welcoming French hostess this restaurant is the epitome of French provincial. The food is simply sublime from entree to main to dessert your tastebuds will be delighted with amazing flavours and textures. Each meal was presented beautifully with fresh local produce swimming in rich sauces. Now for those sweeties I highly recommend the profiteroles…they are light, crispy and ooze warm gooey custard that mixes in with a plate full of chocolate and grand marnier sauce. The customer service was top notch by the waitresses and we even got to chat with the chef who was born and raised in coastal France and has a true passion to bring French flavours to a little seaside town in Australia. Thank you for having us at your truly special and unique restaurant!
