Delicious ice cream and very generous portions of food. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our favourite Ice Cream place in town.

One of the best coffees you'll find outside of Wellington! We also indulged in the cheese scone, corn fritters and ice creams for the children. They were all super delicious. The cafe had a really warm and cosy ambience, which you might not expect when...you view it from the outside. Highly recommend.More

We had lunch here on our first day in Kaikoura. I ordered the BLAT and it was a very generous portion and very tasty! Eggs and a cheese roll also enjoyed. There are also many flavours of delicious homemade ice cream to choose from -...we only wish we had stayed in town longer to try them all out!More

We enjoyed two breakfasts, a lunch and several of their homemade icecreams over our 9 days in Kaikoura. There's a little hidden dining area at the back which is a very pleasant quiet spot for a meal. Friendly folk and seriously good food...and that icecream...is a must!More

Wow, the best turkish delight ice cream. And good value too. I had mine dipped in chocolate, and it was amazing.

Popped in for some homemade ice-cream. Between two of us we got 4 different flavours - toffee apple, lemon curd, chocolate and peach and passionfruit. All were disappointing, lemon curd and peach and passionfruit flavourless. Texture was terrible - not creamy, just that weird icy...texture ice-cream sometimes gets. At $7 a pop we were really disappointed and I didn't finish mine. Wouldn't go back.More

We were looking somewhere for lunch and a lot of places were full , and then we found Poppy’s. So glad we did. Cute we cafe/ice cream parlour . Friendly service and nice food. Hot chocolate was the best I’ve had in a long time...!!!! I had the Soup/bread $9 for a large bowl of freshly made tasty homemade a soup. One of the others had a stuffed baked potato’s which looked yum to. We decided to go back the next day for breakfast . ( so glad we did) We all had Avocado Mash except one who had eggs Benedict . The avo mash was in rye bread, feta, tomato, herb oil , poached egg and I added bacon . It was divine ($23.50) Good selection of breaky options available and they seem to be pretty flexible with things! The cabinet food looked good to with things which can be heated also. Thanks guys. Awesome. We will be back next time .More

Poppy's sell ice-cream made locally and ice-cream they make themselves. We opted for the homemade and it was delicious; we had the mint-choc and the salted caramel . We had one scoop of ice-cream in a tub and the girl serving us could not physically...get any more ice-cream in the pot - great value for money. We sat at one of the outside tables on the pavement to enjoy our ice-creamsMore

We had a great evening meal in Poppy's, Lamb shank that melted in your mouth, not licensed but you get a jug of juice, and finish off with ice cream of your choice and priced very reasonably some may say cheap, lovely friendly staff. We...highly recommend for the evening meal and or just an ice cream.More
