Head into Hokitika town center just over the railway tracks you'll see Hokitika Townchip family operated fish and chip business.
Menu to suit all such a large selection its hard to make a decision. Always well cooked and wrapped in newspaper old school love it.
If in Hokitika call in and try them out you won't be disappointed.

Visiting town for the long weekend and fancied fish and chips for an easy dinner. Little did we know that we stumbled upon the best fish and chips we have had for a long time! Fish was flaky and moist, chips were chunky and cooked just right. Scallop, mussel, squid ring and prawn was cooked with love too! 10/10. And their online ordering facility made it extra easy!

Like a good meal of fish and chips I feel Porkys is pricing its self out. Portions are smaller than many other simpler outets and their prices match this which has started turning people away. Their food is very nice just a bit $$

Stopped here on our way home. Online ordering system is awesome - makes the wait time shorter and is nice and easy. Food was great, chips nice and crispy, rig cooked to perfection and the hot dog was delicious. Shop has a nice look, staff are fast and friendly and the young man at the counter is great. Will be back!

The best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Originally form the UK and living in Auckland I was unfamiliar with the types of fish on sale. The friendly staff advised we should try the rig. It was delicious and cooked excellently and the chips were too. 5 star rating 10/10 - I wish this place was near to where I live.

Great casual spot. We needed a meal after driving all day and before heading to the Hokitika Gorge. As it was around 16:00 we wanted something quick and casual. I ordered the veggie burger and thought it was fabulous (veggie patties can be hit or miss). My wife's fish was OK. It had a huge, I mean huge, serving of salt on it that we kept having to wipe off.

This was the best burger I’ve ever had….and I’ve had a few burgers in my time. Had the Vege burger with an egg, beetroot, onion and a vege patty made in-house. Plus great atmosphere, brilliant service and awesome vibe

Fantastic local service! Friendly chat with staff about the local whitebait and paua pattie. Chips were crunchy and wide cut- delicious. Whitebait and paua Pattie’s were fabulous! Real paua and home made. Highly recommend!!

Wouldn’t reccomend - expensive and below average kai . Everything was over cooked and to feed 3 small kids and 1 adult - $60

Pretty nice fish & chips. Had a couple of pieces of Rig (which is like Aussie Flake), chips all for about $20. Nice flavour and the fish was fresh. Staff friendly and helpful.
